Rating: Summary: It took me a long time to think of an opinion, but . . . Review: No, it's not an awful book, and in fact it has a lot going for it. However, after much analytical summarization of the novel, Heir to the Empire, I have found that it has many things that detract from it. Some of the characters are great, such as Grand Admiral Thrawn, Mara Jade and Captain Pellaeon. However, it has the little bugs in it that bother me. Things like Joruus C'baoth, a character with little depth and not enough "page time" detract from the books quality, as well as the far more ridiculous Force-bubbling ysalamari. The characteristic of these furry animals is that they somehow "bubble" the Force, whereas the area in which they are present, no Force exists. And throughout the course of the book, or even the entire Zahn trilogy, it is never explained. However, I do credit its good points and grant that it was an enjoyable book to read. But I wouldn't come running to this book to try and experience a very technical perspective of the Star Wars universe.
Rating: Summary: i think it was a great book Review: this book has plenty of action
Rating: Summary: Wonderful. Review: It's a great, great book. Zahn is to be commended
Rating: Summary: The best of the series!! Review: This is definitley the best star wars book I've ever read! There is so much action and detail, it's incredible how the author put it all in one book! A must for any book reader. Can't put it down!
Rating: Summary: This is Star Wars. The Force is with this book! Review: When I read this book, it felt just like the movies! Iloved how the author captured the the personality of all the characters. You could tell that while they are the same that they have also matured since return of the Jedi. The plot was great, and I love how the action was just like the Star Wars movies. Besides making a action filled book that goes into depth of the characters feelings and personality, the author added new ships, aliens, and characters while still retaining the Star Wars spirit. A great read for any reader, Star Wars or no Star Wars you will like this book. May the Force be with you.

Rating: Summary: Its as good as the first Star Wars. Review: It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Timothy Zahn put good thought into this book. His blockbuster hit is certainly a very good one. I would highly recommend that you read this book and many others that Zahn wrote. I liked especially the Jorus C'boath guy. Luke wasn't the last of the Jedi after all. The plot is rather extrordinary itself. It consists from having to do with jedi, smugglers, the twins and many others. You should really read this book. If you are a real Star wars fan, you should want to read it over and over again.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY SUPERB CONTINUATION OF THE STAR WARS SAGA! Review: Timothy Zhan's Heir to the Empire is nothing short of a masterpiece! Grand Admiral Thrawn's presence becomes almost tangible for the enthusiastic reader. The novel is superbly crafted, so as to always keep the reader involved in the story. There are no boring filler sections, but instead a constantly evolving plot that one enjoys keeping up with. Zahn's clear presentation of the Star Wars characters makes it feel like one is totally esconched in a movie! Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command, and also Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future, all stand at the top of the pyramid of Star Wars books. Definitely read these books for an awesome trip to a galaxy far, far away!
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: It well, gives paradise to a SW fan's heart when a great book like this comes out. The interesting salamander like ysalamari plot is cool. And that Jorus C'baoth, I've never heard of him b4 , hmm. The book is entirely cool, but , it's very long.... To those who disliked it, here's a suggestion, instead of reading the book, increase your knowlege through the books which the SW authors have written. Like how does Han understand mr Chewie's language or that ysalamari(I think it's pronounced yesalamari) . It's cool but thick.
Rating: Summary: It's great to find out what happened after the trilogy Review: Finally, we know what happened to the heroes and villains of the trilogy after the final movie, "Return of the Jedi". Heir to the Empire takes place 5 years after the movie, as Han and Leia are married and expecting twins, Luke is becoming the first of the new Jedi, and a new, greater power is rising in the empire. This new power, Grand Admiral Thrawn is widely unknown to the New Republic (the old Rebellion), and is only known of to the higher ranked officials in the empire. He has new forces to help him, too; Admiral Palleon, and a vicious species know as the Nhogri, loyal to Darth Vader and his offspring. Thrawn is on a mission to a mountain where Emporer Palpatine is rumoured to have hidden secret weaponry and technology. On this mission, they come into contact with a crazy Jedi Master Clone, Joruus C'baoth. They take him onboard the Chimeara, Thrawn's flagship. C'baoth has heard of the Skywalkers, and that Leia is expecting twins, both strong in the force. He first tries to kill Thrawn, but finds out that his force powers are useless against Thrawn, for he has a special creature lofted on his shoulder, able of repelling the force. He then bargains with him to try to capture both Skywalker siblings. When Luke and Leia are seperated, Luke comes into contact with Talon Karrde, after barely escaping an imperial encounter. There he meets Mara Jade, who has been insrtucted to kill him at whatever the cost. By who or why, you'll have to find out for yourself, as you will what happens next. Read Zahn's trilogy, and you can read any Star Wars book after that. Trust me!
