Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great color combos for all!
Review: This is a wonderful book to keep as a reference for any type of graphic design project. The small, but extremely useful, book size allows you to keep the book handy on your desk at all times. Whether you use the book for color inspiration or to pull color combinations (up to 4 colors) from, it's a great tool. The color listings are in CMYK and RGB including a small section of Browser Safe colors in the back of the book.

Summary: You won't need another color guide!!
Review: This is the color book to end all other color books! Not only does Jim list the CMYK, but RGB and HEX too! Not only does he have the standard rectangle color blocks but an intricate pattern of the colors AND the colors in an illustration! He also gives comments on how to brainstorm for creative ideas as I'm sure he did in the 'Ideas Index' book. He also lists some of the colors that are trendy at this time which was so helpful.

There are Web and Browser safe colors, logo ideas and the lists goes on! I was smiling as I went through it last night - and that has NEVER happened! My creativity was so fueled, couldn't wait to get up this morning to get started on SOMETHING - ANYTHING! I am so impressed! I've bought and returned so many color guides but this 'little' book has made a HUGE impact and makes the 'Color Harmony' series books 'pale' in comparison! You will NOT be sorry!!

Summary: So useful
Review: This little book is never far from my hands. It provides wonderfully inspiring color schemes and variations, classified by mood and period, that provide the seeds of great designs.

Summary: A great place to start when you're designing.
Review: This little book is terrific for quick inspiration and interesting color combinations. Not accurate for print reproduction, but a really good place to start when you want to try some new color combinations.

It's one of those books that is always in arm's reach...and has more than paid for itself.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fantastic reference book for color combinations
Review: While I reserve the 5 stars for only the most amazing of books, 4 is a top notch rating! I would give a 4.5, but there are no half points. This book has a great binding with a vinyl cover and will last years on your desktop next to your dictionary and thesaurus. It's a mini-format which I like for reference manuals.

The author presents the color schemes well and they will help any designer. This would be a 5 star book if not for the fact that you can't lookup combinations by color code. I wanted to "add" to a website based on the primary color(s) and the only way to find this color in use was to sort through the pages to see if I could find it. And it would have been nice to have a mini-CD with this book, but that might be asking a bit much considering the price.
