Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GREAT book for beginner
Review: If you are a beginner in photography like me and want to learn the basics....this book explains it in plain english. No longer are shutter speed, apeture sizes (f-stops), and film ISO numbers a mystery. Now I know the basics of what I need to get a picture to come out right.

If you are already into photography and know the basics, then the boook probably won't "do it" for you, but for a beginner this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I guess the people who gave it lower ratings before this review didn't read the sub-title at the bottom of the cover that says "An INTRODUCTION to the Equipment and Creative Techniques of Digital Photography".

It even goes into photo editing with popular programs later in the book too. I highly recommend it for beginners like me.

Summary: I purchased a copy...
Review: It is definately helpful to those just getting into digital photography, but it just isn't as advanced as I would like it to be. It has a lot of useful information for manipulation, but it is lacking in the actual "shooting" phase of photography.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Unfortunate cover
Review: The book sounds like just what I am looking for, but they are going to have to change that unfortunate choice of cover page...

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Lacking
Review: This book is lacking some critical insights. It doesn't far enough for a novice. It isn't clear when attempting to explain complex but critical information. It is insufficient.
