Rating: Summary: Must Have! Review: This book may be a bit pricy with only 250 pages but it is well worth it if you are wanting to learn C. It is a straight-forward book -- goes straight to the point. There are many examples which help you learn the concepts much easier. I'm sure you have heard many say how great this book is, and they are telling the truth. This book explains pointers very well. Another C book I have left me confused when he get to pointers. This book does not. It is very easy to grasp the concepts they are trying to tell you.
Rating: Summary: Wow! amazing book! Review: I just finished reading this book, and I look at the C class I am currently enrolled in and am amazed: In the several weeks it took to go through this book, not only did i learn far more than i have in my class (and it's almost over) but the topics were easier to understand. For example: pointers had been pretty shaky for me, but a quick dose of this book fixed that in a few minutes, whereas my teacher managed to convey the same or less information over a space of 2 and 1/2 hours yet was more confusing than the book's description. If you want to program in C, you must get this book.
Rating: Summary: The best C book ever written. Review: C is a powerful and elegant language, and no other book I have ever read has been able to convey this so simply as this book. Any serious programmer will greatly benefit from the knowledge contained within, for it will give them a deep understanding of the language.
Rating: Summary: Good book for everyone Review: This book is a good read for beginning and advanced C programmers. If you're the type to need the "Dummy" books, maybe software development isn't your thing.
Rating: Summary: Essential C programming book Review: If you are a C programmer then you must have this book. After years of writing code I find that I am constantly having to return to this book. It is the best there is.
Rating: Summary: The Best Programing Book Until Now! Two Thumbs UP! Review: If you are a begginer and you are looking for a starting point. Then this is the best starting point avalible.Purchase this book read the first couple of pages and you'll be hooked onto reading this book and onto going to higher possibly (after reading this book)understandable books about programing. This book contains the updated version of C the languge and uses the languge that Unix was written on. Alround, this book is the book before C++.I really enjoyed this book and it helped me with the first steeping stones for programing. I also do recommed to use this book with the help of someone with computer expertice for those hard words.Hope you enjoy the book its great.
Rating: Summary: The first beautiful computer book. Review: This book makes Sams 21 days series look like a bigger waste of time than we already know it is. Slim, trim, and smart... this book tells it how it is. If you program, this book needs to be on your shelf.
Rating: Summary: A Definite Book For any C Programmer Review: This Book covers it all. Waiting For a C++, like this one
Rating: Summary: This is a heeel for beginners Review: I am writing this review with this book on my hand. I bought this book with happiness three days ago, because I thought I was going to start learning computer programming. However, as a beginner, I found myself have a huge trouble to understand this book. I might be a great reference book for experienced programmers. But for me, it's a hell! I will return this book an hour later, and get another easier book to start learning C. However, I will come back to this one as soon as I have some basic knowledge about C. I believe it will work once I come back.
Rating: Summary: I just bought it... Review: I haven't received the book yet, but I have a question:Which compiler might I consider using to work out examples and experiment with my new knowledge? I am running Windows NT 4 SP4. Will VC work? Wacom? Any advice appreciated!
