Summary: Good Book for Review
Review: After using this book to pass 70-315 on the first try, I used another Que book to pass 70-320. Very satisfied with the results. Questions in the chapters are good for review, but you need to make sure you cover all the material. You never know which direction the exam is going to be skewed, and you need good general knowledge. I also highly recommend Transcenders for final review.

Summary: Pretty good...
Review: I bought this book a while ago, read it over the next few months, stopped, continued, did the prep exams on the book, did the prep exam on the cd. I didn't feel to confident but managed to pass nonetheless.

The thing about it is though the book contains a lot of stuff that you won't necessarily find on the actual exam. That's why for my next exam(webservices one), I bought a Exam Cram book. I should mention that I use ASP.NET and Web Services almost everyday at work. I got most of the dev type questions right with full confidence but missed quite a few on configuration type ones. I just remember reading lots and lots about accessibility and internationalization stuff but only found 1 or 2 q's on those. Instead I found majority of q's on actual usage of Data controls and found some on C# itself. Quite surprised but better for me. I just can't believe I made sure to remember <html dir="rtl"> but it didn't show up on the exam :)

Buy Exam Cram books if you are a .NET developer.

Summary: Good but need a little more
Review: I found this book really good, especially when I did not have a whole lot of experience with ASP.Net. The book covered most of the required topics in enough detail and the practical exercises helped with understanding of topics that I had less knowledge of. However, the practice exam included is nowhere near hard enough as a representation of what to expect. I used this book, the included practice exam, along with the Transcender exam and found these were enough to pass the exam first go.

Summary: A book that really helps
Review: I have finally found the right book to prepare for the 70-315 exam. I am new to .NET and I passed the exam on my first attempt. At more than 1200 pages, this is real fat book and it took me whole 17 days to cover everything. The book has fifteen chapters, so I completed one chapter every day and then in the last two days, I worked through the final review section, sample questions and the difficult sections multiple times over.

This book actually made me write so much of code that my fingers hurt :-) but I feel good after doing so much of work because now I am very confident about the subject. If you are new like me, I would suggest that you also type code instead of using the code from the CD. Because of typing, I think that I was able to remember a lot of stuff in the exam even after such a rushed preparation. Also, before you take the exam, remember to revise the exam tips and notes.

These are some good point about this book:
- Lots of lots of code and really good examples

- Useful exam tips and notes
- More than 300 sample questions

These are some bad points about the book:
- Although there are more than 300 sample questions but only 58 of them are on the CD, all other questions are printed on book pages so remember not to mark them using pencil, or you will already know the answer the next time you try to revise them.
- They could have saved some pages by cutting on the size of final review section of the book. Instead, I would have liked a tear-off sheet listing all the exam tips at one place.

In short, if you are preparing for the 70-315 exam, I would say that this book *really* helps.

Summary: An excellent study guide
Review: I just took my 70-315 exam today(and my head is still spinning). It was difficult, but I managed to pass, by and large thanks to this book. I can't speak highly enough of the quality of Mr. Kalani's study guide. It is very comprehensive, with countless practical examples. All of the source code is included on the CD, and I found very few errors in the code. If you are planning to sit for the 70-315 exam or just want to learn ASP.NET, then I must say that this is the book for you. The only downside is that the included PrepLogic exam is quite poor. There are several questions that are just plain wrong and the difficulty is far too easy. Also, the book questions, while good, are definitely easier than the actual exam questions. Personally, I also purchased the Transcender practice exams(despite the ridiculous price), and I must say that they more accurately reflect the difficulty level of the exam. The bottom line is that this book + Transcender exams = recipe for success. Happy studying!!!

Summary: Total waste of time and money!!
Review: I just took the exam (070-315) and FALIED!! Let me tell you this book maybe - just maybe - helped with one answer out of the 43 questions. Thanks Amit, you jerk. I vote that you MCAD should be taken away!! I suggest reading lots of ADO.NET books as that seems to be the bulk of the exam questions. And ADO.NET just isnt covered in Amit piece-of-$it book. Thanks again Que for not only making me spend money on your crappy uninformitive book but also having to take the exam again - so now im out 125+35 + another $125. Thanks.

Summary: It helped me pass, but it was poorly written/edited
Review: I passed my exam on the first try, which was my the reason for getting the book. The book covered a lot of stuff that you don't really come across in day to day development that you need to know for the exam. There were a few things on the exam not covered in the book, but overall the book did a good job of covering the material.

My biggest complaint is that there were some mistakes in some of the examples, in particular there were a couple of places where a code snippet had a capital letter where it should have been lowercase.

Summary: Great Platform for the Exam.
Review: I used this book over a 3 month period for learning the material for the 70-315 exam. I do not have an extensive development background (mainly management) and I'm reasonably new to .NET (from a day-day development pov. After completing every exercise and exam question I then took a couple of weeks off (contemplation time) and worked through the ExamCram2 book as a summary (only reading and exam questions). I passed the exam (824). The main gripe I have is that the PrepLogic test provided on the CD in the book was more difficult than the real exam (I only scored 63% for that one). Overall I scored higher on the actual exam than I did on any of the sample questions provided in the book.

If I were doing it again I would buy the book and one software simulation package. I did manage to try a SelfTest Software package, but became infuriated by the number of 'made-up' options within the answers, ie. "The answer is A as all other options are invalid properties of xyz."
