Rating: Summary: Exactly what I needed for my job Review: OK, I've just been assigned to do a complete upward migration from SQL Server 7.0 to 2000. I especially needed details on data replication and DTS... I found everything I needed here and one of the best explanations of data replication I have ever seen. thanks.
Rating: Summary: This book is a "MUST HAVE" Review: Residing between the covers on this book lies all the expertise you will ever need. I've found the answers to all my questions and solutions to all my problems. The authors have also opened up new ideas (some of which I've already put into practice, the others I plan to try) to improve the performance, scalability and reliability of my systems. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Unleashed is a must have.
Rating: Summary: Details...details Review: This book gets into the nuts and bolts of day-to-day tasks that a SQL Server admin goes through. It's a great reference book to keep on your desk and close to you at all times.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This book might be useful, but the build quality is so low it is not worth the effort to find out. After two attempts and 2+ weeks of wasted time I have yet to receive a copy that is not missing from 1423-1470. Do yourself a favor and stick with O'Reilly (at least the book will not be missing parts). If you think you are going to use the index to find something, don't waste your time A-D is missing. Lets say you want to look into auto increment.....alter table....hmm hard to guess how many topics are between A and D.

Rating: Summary: Everything you need to know. Review: This is a great book!!! It covers everything you need to know. It is good rather you are new to it or have experience. After reading this book I was able to answer questions that even our DBA did not know. It really covers the basics and the in depth stuff. With lots of examples. Highly recommed.
