Rating: Summary: Excellent exam preparation Review: I just passed the exam, using just this book and the trancender exams. There were a few things on the exam that I can think of that were not in the book or the trancenders (like 3 questions out of 58), but overall I think this is an excellent book. I used the book to prepare myself for the Trancenders, and the trancenders to make sure I was ready for the test. The reason that I am giving this book 5 stars is that I passed all of the tests for the previous version of the MCSD (VB6, etc..) and none of the books that I used for those exams prepared me as well as this one did. Everything on the exam is thoroughly covered in the book, and if you take the time to go through all of the chapters and do all of the excercises, I would say that this book is really all you need.
Rating: Summary: Good Stuff!! Review: I kinda like this book very much. Amit and Preethi did an excellent job by explaining each chapter in detail. This may be good for understanding the concepts in details; but some chapters are more in detail than focusing for the exam point of view. But my over all experience with this book is good. This has more code examples then any other MCAD books I seen in book stores. I actually used this book to prepare for my VB.net exam (70-310) and I passed in my first attempt.
Rating: Summary: Good book, but only as a booster Review: I read this book inside and out and barely passed the test. Only about half of the questions on the test were covered on the book. Thank goodness I did some other studying, do not rely solely on this book or you will fail!
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: I recently passed the exam on first try. I used this book as well as the exam cram 2 by Que. The sample practice tests are the best although I also used the Transcender 3-day. The book covers almost everything in clarity except a few minor things on security and XML classes. But the Transcenders took care of that.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I would definately recommend buying this books. I ordered and it came in 2 days. 5 out of 5.
Rating: Summary: Very helpful, know C# first Review: I'm half-way through this book, and I'm very impressed. The excercises and their variety and applicability have been great. The side notes and practice exam questions are helpful too. Yes, this book is not for newcomers to C#. Read a beginner book first, then use this book as exam prep. The back cover of the book, which you can view on amazon website says the book is intended for those with working knowledge of C#. Unfortunately, programmer123 didn't bother to look at this and gave an unfair rating of only three stars. Not fair. This book deserves at least four stars.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I've been using this book to study with and so far I have been very impressed. The examples are good and the numerous exercises are very helpful. The author also does a good job of giving you lots of information in a concise and well written matter. The problems and exercises often expose deeper details, tricks, and things that have been very useful increasing my knowledge of WindowsForms. It does assume a working knowledge of C# but it would be quite difficult to attempt the exam without it, in my humble opinion. This one is a must for all developers looking to take the exam.

Rating: Summary: THE guide to .NET on the Windows platform Review: If you're studying for the MCSD or MCAD then you've got to get the QUE certification books. This book is also an excellent resource for learning Windows.Net even if you aren't taking the certifications. I read the 70-315 book first, as ASP.NET is my area of expertise. Depending on how you like to study, it might be a good idea to read both the 70-315 and the 70-316 before taking both exams. This way you can glean the differences between ASP.NET internet and Windows.NET considerations. I like to concentrate on the differences between Windows.Net and ASP.NET. On Windows, drawing and printing are more important, the runtime runs on the client, and session is not the issue it is on the internet. This volume has all the features of the Que Training Guide series. Amit is an excellent author. The material is presented in a step by step format. I can't stress this enough: do the step by steps and exercises. When you come out the other side of this book, you'll be very good at Windows.Net. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: The best book ever written for c# Review: This book includes thousands of usefull examples that I use in my real life. The book is easy to understand and really helpfull.
Compared with any other book it is the best for the 70-316 exam.
It includes 15 chapters with 15 question each one (225 questions) and 75 extra questions.
This is exactly the book that I was looking for.
I passed the exam in the first change with a score of 980/1000 !!.
Obviosly I used trascender and the MSDN, but 70 % of the studies were based on the book.
Amit Kalani is an extremely good writter. Congratulations for the book !!.
