Summary: Interesting, but pointless
Review: This book describes many intersting C++ things, but is more like a University project than useful for engineer. There are not many things useful or educational for engineer.

The author makes column on C++ Users Journal, which is more useful than this book. Author's new book on Coding Standards is also worht buying better than this.

Summary: Hoping for a bit more
Review: Overall this is a good book but the title should be something more like: "How the LOKI Library Works" rathern than "Modern C++ Design". I would have preferred more information on how to develop my own template based designs rather than how to use LOKI's library in my designs.

Review: Being a C++ programmer of 10+ years, I thought I was very proficient. This book has thought me to rethink my thought processes when it comes to design and implementation (not just through C++).
If you're a novice C++ programmer, this book isn't for you. The delicacies and intricacies therein both challenge and delight!
