Summary: Worthless book
Review: After reading all the great reviews this book has received, I expected to get a good book that would guide me to great fortunes. After all, the title suggests financial freedom, doesn't it? Well I ddin't quite achieved what the titles suggests. In fact I consistantly lost money following the philosophies of this book. If you want something that works, buy Jeff Cooper's Hit & Run Trading.

Summary: Another Excellent Work
Review: Another excellent work by Van Tharp. Of course, you should read "Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom" before this book. If you have not, though, it should be the next book on your list. This book provides many insights into the day-to-day electronic trading habits of good traders. This is the kind of information that could cost thousands and take months, if not years, to acquire -- it's no wonder some people ask why they were giving so much information away.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Recommended
Review: Are you interested in Van Tharp's stuff? Then get this book before his others as it summarizes much of his other stuff in this book. This book is a bit more readable than his others, plus more stuff is added. If you are looking for stock tips or trading algorithms, then don't bother. Van Tharp's view of trading is a good tool to have in your trading toolbox.

Summary: A Must Have for Every Trader's Library
Review: Brian June and Dr. Van Tharp have combined and put together a "complete" book on the complex subject of Day Trading. Dr. Tharp provides the necessary psychological work and Brian June provides insights to the real world of day trading. Anyone who daytrades without reading and understanding this book would be better off going to Las Vegas. I have read a lot of books on trading, but none are complete like this one is, most books cover just one aspect of trading.

Summary: Rehash of Tharp's Original
Review: Brian June does not offer anything of value to this publication. The rest was already taught by Van Tharp in his other book. M only question is if Van Tharp knows what mindset a trader must have, why doesn't he trade?

Summary: A Mature, Realistic Comprehensive Owners Manual
Review: Combine Dr Tharp's world renowned (and well deserved) reputation for mastery of trading psychology, and the wisdom, insights and practical experience of a successful trader and you end up with this Owner's Manual on how to day trade for a living. Many books will focus on entries, but this book addresses the many support systems required to operate a successful trading system as a business as well. Beliefs and assumptions are detailed so you can see if Mr June's system works for for you. The discussions of risk management and expectancy are not as detailed as in Dr Tharp's classic, but then it doesnt need to be. If you are serious about this business, you need both books anyway. I can't think of a better investment in insurance and risk management than these 2 volumes. Mr June's book is a practical application of how he applied Dr Tharp's teachings to his own personality and situation. The beauty of this book is that it lays out a blueprint that can be executed by folks who can internalize the belief system. I believe a lot of folks can. If you don't spend the time to master the details of the support systems Mr June talks about, you aren't ready to trade for a living. It's hard to argue with successful results, and Mr June lays out exactly how he does it. If you can't find enough ideas in this book to repay the price of the book 100 times over then you either are a master trader who is already there, or an amatuer looking for the Holy Grail. If you do the expectancy of the price of this book according to Dr Tharp's teachings you'll do what I did: buy it and buy copies for friends and fellow traders.

Summary: great for business side of trading
Review: I get suspicious when I read five-star reviews about books that don't offer much content. Of the 200 or so books that I have read to date on trading, this would easily be one of the poorest in terms of substance - there is no 'brain-feeding' content whatsoever. In my opinion, it offers nothing to the beginner or advanced trader and I am surprised that some people have found positive comments for it (I note thay don't really say why it is good). There is nothing new covered or any depth in what is covered (at least nothing a decent website couldn't offer). Furthermore, the authors style of writing tends to be quite condescending which makes it very frustrating to read. For example, I had to put the book aside for a few hours at the section where the author suggests making regular donations to street beggars will improve your trading. While I do sympathise with the less privaleged in society, I thought this suggestion was just grabbing for something to write about. If you are just starting, save your money and buy Elder. Likewise as an advanced trader, get maybe Connors or Racshke and try to skip this by a million miles.
