Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Solid, Authoritative, Hands-On Guide
Review: This book is carefully conceived and executed and takes the reader through traditional investing subjects integrated with material from the Internet.

Hundreds of sites are covered. They are carefully grouped and discussed. Tools available over the Internet are listed and their use is carefully explained.

There is an important chapter on protecting yourself from fraud, as well as a good discussion on security of Internet transactions

I found the yellow pages of URLs alone worth the cost of the book. The CD-ROM was carefully constructed and contained much useful software.

I have had the book for five months. I keep it by my desk and use it every day. As an example of its usefulness: When the markets began to fall, I was able to learn how to buy US Treasuries directly over the Internet.

The author is an expert who writes clearly and with authority.

Again highly recommended.

Summary: Not perfect, but very helpful for a beginner
Review: This book takes a complex subject and makes at least some sense of it. For people who already have a lot of experience with investments, this one is probably less than what you want. But if you are just starting out, or thinking about starting out, this book gives a lot of helpful information. I highly recommend it for beginners like me.

Summary: Great book!
Review: This book was easy to understand, thoruough, and helped me to understand the complexities of investing online. I had almost zero investing experience, but now I feel equipped to trade, and make my own investment decisions.

Summary: Nothing but a list of bookmarks
Review: This book was like a video that you rent, but turn off after 15 minutes because the movie isn't worth finishing. It looks like the author used an Internet search engine to collect a large number of web sites, and then used the long list of links (1000's of them, or so it seems) to fill as many pages in the book as possible. However, they're empty pages, devoid of useful information. The author didn't even bother to highlight the 10-20 best sites, so that I wouldn't have to overload myself by trying to check out each one of the many sites listed.

I already know how to use the Internet, but I'm a beginning investor. I was looking for something that would teach me useful techniques for finding the best stocks. If you are new to the Internet and don't know what to type in your web browser, then this book might be ok for you. If you are already comfortable with using a search engine, save yourself a few bucks and go to Google instead of buying this book.
