Rating: Summary: A classic well worth the read Review: This is a very good book on the subjects of OOA/OOD. It emphasizes concepts and has a strong academic flavor, which I appreciate "accidentally." Although the particular C++ programming language is not the focus, you need to know a least some C++ to understand the example code snippets, which helps you grasp the concepts. The Booch notations used were for historical reason; the book was published before the standardization of UML. In most cases, the reader can mentally translate (pretty easy) the diagrams in the book to UML while reading it. Now that Rational had been bought by IBM, hopefully the author will have time to update (or perhaps even rewrite a whole new edition of) this classic.

Rating: Summary: nice book on programming methodology Review: This is an vary cool book on object oriented methodology. It takes you from scratch and teach great aspects of programming methodology , before reading this book i was not knowing anything about object orianted methodology ,now I have enough knowledge on this topic so that i can understand any descussion on object orianted techniques. Basically this book gives me the way to think in objects.
Rating: Summary: A Pragmatic and Structured Text on OO Review: This is not a book to be serve as an introduction to OO to the novice programmer. I do not think it was ment to be that. I found the book extremely appealing in that it is extremely well structured and clearly written. The discussions are pragmatic and the concepts well defined. If you have a strong technical background, you will find this book a valuable resource to OO concepts and the application thereof. Do not expect to find OO eplained according to the cliched car and people analogies though. Money well spent.
