Review: With the enormous variety of components, processors, interfaces and architectures available for embedded designs, the learning curve seems intimidating. This book does a great job at introducing the reader to the basics and then walk through some real-world applications. The focus is on simple designs, yet they illustrate the complex applications that can quickly be achieved. Common interfaces (USB, ethernet, RS232, etc.) are all covered and will give the reader the confidence to go and explore the next level of HW design.
Highly recommended !! I hope John is working on "Designing Embedded Software" to complement this great resource.
