Summary: It's a good title ....
Review: This book is very generic and the intended audience for this book is the person who recently just bought their first computer and now they want to create their first web page. This book will help you achieve that goal. When you finish this book, not only will you be able to create web pages but you will be able to include pictures. This is perfect for the home user who wants to put their kids or their grandchildren on a web page for all of their friends to see. The authors have done a good job writing this book. In chapter 2 and 3, the authors explain how web pages work on AOL, other ISPs, and GeoCities. In Chapter 4, they teach you the fundamentals of HTML. The chapters are fairly short and the cartoons really help ease the stress of learning. You cannot go wrong with this book and I highly recommend it.

Summary: A SOLID INTRODUCTION FOR BEGINNERS
Review: This book provides a good foundation for Internet beginners. It explains very clearly all aspects of the Internet and HTML language, including important information on graphics, Web publishing protocols, etc. However, this is definitely a book for novices. If you already possess some knowledge of Web publishing, you might find this book too basic. I also think this book is more ideally suited to designing personal Web pages, not professional ones. Further study is certainly needed after this book is finished. But like all "Dummy" books, it is very easy to understand.

Summary: Can teach anyone HTML
Review: This book taught me how to program HTML. My web page works great because of it! Without this book I couldn't have even known the first thing about programming! I think that it can teach anyone about programming with HTMl. This book teaches programming forms, text, using MS Office 97 on the web, FTP, HTTP, and MORE!

Summary: Has great information, but too program-specific.
Review: This is a good introduction to building a web page. There are simple, step by step directions, and the hints and recommendations are very useful. The HTML section is very clear. However, there is too much space devoted to specialized programs - tips for using Composer, Page Mill, AOL. The reader will only be using, at most, one of these programs, and will end up skipping chapters that don't apply. Someone using Page Mill won't need to know how to install Netscape composer, and vice versa. Many programs aren't included at all. I would rather have seen more information that applies to everyone, and saved the specialized tips for a few pages in an appendix.

Summary: Thanks to this book, I published my web site in a weekend!
Review: This is the perfect book for a beginner. Although I had previous publishing experience, I was new to web publishing. This book gave me the knowledge I needed to get our companies web site up and running in one weekend. Very easy to read and understand! My only suggestion: more tips on getting hits on your site. END

Summary: This book clearly explanes how to create a good web page.
Review: This was a funny and easey to read book. I am a 12 year old and I understood most of it and I was ammoused throughout. Although some of the links didn't work it was still a interesting and easey to read book. I recomend this book for anyone just about any age. If I'm a 12 year old and I could understand this than I think just about anyone could understand this.

Summary: Creating a Web Page for Dummies
Review: While this book trades under the usual "Dummies" yellow and black, I found it to be extrememly helpful beyond the bare basics. There were numerous pointers to aid in the building of a webpage for my 3rd grade students as they support their writing skills and have a place to display their work. This book provided a great way for me to simply show them "how to" and I gained pointers on where to go for the next stage in our class web projects. I also liked getting the CD with trial versions of a variety of programs such as Dreamweaver and HotDog Professional. This was money well spent.
