Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: 1. If you want to pass the exam then buy this book and study it inside and out. Pay special attention to the Fast Facts section.2. This book is also a great reference tool while working in the field. 3. The software is outstanding. The questions are far more challenging then the ones you will find on the exam. If you do well on the simulation exam then you know that you are ready for the real deal. * There is a slight error in regards to what OSI layer a NIC functions on (Data-Link and Physical not just Data-Link).
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: As a technical trainer I have been looking for a Network+ book to use in the classroom. This book had all of the elements I need and for my students inlcuding an amazing Fast Facts section that they used for final exam prep. I definately recommend this book for in the classroom and for personal study. I look forward to checking otu other books by this publisher.
Rating: Summary: A little more work - this book rivals any others out there. Review: CompTia's newest edition of the Network+ exam is out and also I had to teach a class on Networking. My research lead me to try Que Publishing's book and the client and I were pleasantly surprised by the information and the results. Covering exam N10-002, Network+, this 775 page book gives you hands-on exercises and review questions to reinforce the material at the end of each chapter. Part 1 of the book is the exam preparation covering hardware, the OSI model, protocols, 80 pages on TCP/IP, wan technologies and 120 pages for troubleshooting. Part 2 is the final review section with and good overview of the major points and also tips and notes. The cd included has the e-book as well as over 150 question in various testing formats. Overall the book needs more practice questions and a simulation tool for those not able to access the equipment every day. The book does work well in a classroom and also makes a very nice study tool. Fix a few things and add in more coverage of wireless and security and this book earns the 5 star rating.
Rating: Summary: 6 out of 5 stars Review: Excellent, excellent book. This was my main study material for the Net+ exam and it didn't fail me. Like another review noted, read the Fast Facts! Memorize them, get a solid understanding of various environments with different OSs, and know how to troubleshoot networks (hands-on helps if you are new to this).
Definitely easy if you already started down the road of CompTIA certifications.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: Great book for obtaining your Network+ certification! I read two other training manuals for the Network+ and this by far was the best of the bunch. Almost aced my exam on the first try!
Rating: Summary: Network + Certified in Georgia Review: Great book. I took a course to pass the A+ certification tests. I decided to do Network+ on my own. This book is the only study guide I used, and I passed. I loved the "Fast Facts" section for quick cramming before the exam. I sat in my car for 30 minutes prior to taking the exam and went through the fast facts section. This book also covers every one of the Network+ objectives in detail. I highly recommend this book. I'm currently studying the QUE publishing book on the Windows 2000 Pro test (70-210). I'm hoping for a hat trick.

Rating: Summary: All there** Review: I am not completely new to networking but bought this book before taking the exam. I am glad I did. Some of the questions on the actual exam do not relect the types of situations you will encounter as a network administrator. This book fills in the gaps and prepares you for the obscure questions on the exam. Pay close attention to the CD questions and the detailed cram section in the back of the book before taking the exam. This book has everything you could ask for from a study guide.
Rating: Summary: Great for Schools Review: I have recently purchased this book for use in our high school computer classes. The book is thorough and well layed out for classroom instruction. It is all our students need to take and pass the Network+ exams. We will continue to purchase other books from this publisher!! Good work.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book with pointless software Review: I just finished taking the Network+ exam and scored an 860. This was the only book I used and it covered every question I was asked. That says a lot. I took the A+ exam awhile back and found myself trying to answer a few questions that I know were not talked about in the books I had read. If your looking for a 1 stop source for your Network+ certification, I can easily recommend this. As for the included software, it's pointless and designed to get you to shell out another 50 bux. It includes 72 questions for free and another 216 for 50 dollars, that's like a quarter per question. No thanks. Just make sure you have read and understand the material in the book. Read over the final review and the glossary, and you will be all set.
