Rating: Summary: Great for newbies Review: This book was great. The included CD ROM made going through the book very easy and straightforward. It also included abundant screen captures so that I only got lost once or twice. I made it through about 100 pages in my first sitting. Also, when I had a problem or wanted to build on what I'd learned, I sent email questions to the author, Garo Green, and he responded! The only improvements I could wish for are that the book had you actually build fully functioning sites and that they cover more of the Dreamweaver. But overall its a great start.
Rating: Summary: Great to learn Dreamweaver Review: This book will not teach you much about HTML, coding, or other intracicies of hardcore Internet creations. What it will teach you, though, is as the title is named. It's a great book to learn Dreamweaver, be it 4 or MX. I'm an experienced Web designer, and I've been around (please don't date me!) since the only HTML program available was Notepad. This is a good book to learn Dreamweaver. It's very concise and easy to understand. I only gave it 4 stars because it could have gone just a bit further without giving anything up. It is a fantastic book for beginners, and a great book for intermediates. For the advanced, it's a reference on how to do it the "Dreamweaver" style.
Rating: Summary: Dreamweaver 4 Hands-On Training Review: This is a copy of Dreamweaver 3 Hands-On Training with maybe 20 pages of new material.I only bought Dreamweaver 4 Hands-On Training because I used Dreamweaver 3 Hands-On Training to the point I could not see the words anymore. These Weinman/Green books are the only source you will ever need to learn Dreamweaver 3 or 4.They are empowering manuscripts.I cannot wait until they come out with Flash 5 Hands-On Training
Rating: Summary: Great for new users of Dreamweaver Review: This is a great book for people who are a little familiar with HTML or Frontpage and want to move up to Dreamweaver. It shows you how to use the most popular design aspects of the Web today in a clear cut manner. I finished it in a week. But I have attained a wealth of knowledge!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Dreamweaver tutorial for beginners Review: This is an excellent tutorial for those who are new to Dreamweaver. It takes you virtually step by step on how to fully use the application, both for Mac and PC users. The book also includes brief tips of information throughout each lesson. It is visually very easy to follow, with both imagery and numbered steps. Even though it is a little outdated, it is still an excellent starter book. I feel I got my money's worth.
Rating: Summary: You¿ll Be a Web Designing in No Time Review: This is the book you're going to want to have if you're still running System 9 on a Mac. Hey, don't act so surprised, there are still a lot of people out there who are. System X is great, the Panther is superb, but good old System 9 is still the workhorse it always was and it's quick as the devil, especially on my older G3 machines. Others have said it, and I'll second the motion, this "Hands-On Training" book should have been the one to come with the official program. Garo Green and Lynda Weinman from lynda.com assume you have only limited knowledge of how your Mac works. No knowledge of HTML is required. If you can work your mouse, you're ready to go. You'll be designing your first website in no time at all. This one gets two thumbs up.
