Summary: Excellent J2EE Web Services Book
Review: The author has a very lucid, to-the-point style of writing that is refreshing in these days. It's also written extremely well. It's both modern and thorough, something the other books can't claim. This book is tight and you definitely get your money's worth every time you sit down with it. I think that this was one of the best books that I have ever read on J2EE and web services.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: EXCELLENT J2EE/webservices book
Review: The author is an excellent writer. He used excellent examples to follow. It doesn't waste anytime getting you to building a web services application using J2EE. This is the MOST helpful book to me on J2EE and Web services.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very useful reference
Review: The best book ever written. This book covers in detail both Web services (i.e. XML, SOAP) and J2EE (i.e. servlets, EJB, JSP, JDBC). The author has managed to cover almost everything required to build a web services application using J2EE. The author is very clear about what he is writing and has a very systematic approach of taking you through the book. This book is good, believe me. It starts at where it should and cover all aspects of J2EE and web services. It's a good buy.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: The book covers all aspects of J2EE and web services. I use this book almost daily as a reference book. The examples in this book are short, concise, and to the point. Lots of useful information that is easy to find. I found this book very useful, up to date, easy read and examples worked. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Summary: Excellent reference
Review: The J2EE, The Complete Reference is arguably the best book ever written on the J2EE and Web Services programming. But the book is not only code. The descriptions themselves of the code are practical and helpful. There is a tremendous amount of detail in this book about every aspect of J2EE including JDBC, JSP, and JEB and equally as impression of the detail about every aspect of Web services including XML and SOAP. This is a must buy for anyone seriously interested in developing Web services using J2EE.

Summary: Excellent J2EE/Web services Programming Primer and Reference
Review: This book is by far the best J2EE/Web services book I have had the pleasure of reading. Keogh covers both J2EE and Web services in perfect detail, while at the same time managing to keep the tone of the book light without any sacrifice to the depth of coverage. As an web services programmer myself, I was looking for a book that would help me and my project team get up to speed quickly with J2EE Web services programming. Among all the books I reviewed, I liked this one the best!

Summary: You must buy this book
Review: This book is extremely easy to understand and provides extensive coverage of the subject. Its simple, practical and to the point. There isn't any residual confusion found in other technical books. The presentation is quite enjoyable and very functional. I found practically anything I needed by looking up the term in the index. This qualifies the book both as a book that covers concept and theory and an industrial strength reference book on the topic. I highly recommend this extremely effective book.

Summary: If you keep 1 book, make it this
Review: This book is great, the best J2EE Web Services book out there. As long as you have a basic knowledge of Java, then this book is the only one you need to learn how to build J2EE Web Services applications. It is clearly a well-written informative book. This book succeeds in providing the level of depth and understanding that I wish other tech books contained. This is an indispensable reference tool, one that I refer to often when working in both J2EE and Web Services.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent if you need to catch up J2EE and Web Services
Review: This book is not for the complete Java novice. You need a good grounding in Java before undertaking J2EE to write Web Services applications. This is by far the best book I have seen on J2EE and Web Services. The book is well written; the examples are explained line by line. This book taught me everything I needed to about how to write a J2EE Web Services based application. It also shown me how to write a J2EE distributive application that is not web services based.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The only J2EE Web Services book you will ever need
Review: This book is one of the rare kind of technical books: It's readable. This is one of the few technical books you can read from cover to cover. From beginning to end this book is packed with information that is immediately applicable. My company gave this book out with to every Java developer in the company - a very smart move. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a lot about creating web services applications using J2EE.
