Summary: Simply the Best
Review: Absolutely the best book ever written on Multicasting. No books ever cleared my concepts about multicasting. Multicasting was not an easy topic for me before I read this book. But now it'a piece of cake and the credit goes to Mr. Williamson.

Summary: Simply A "Must-Have" For Lab Prep
Review: Beau's book is indeed the true Multicasting Bible. I was totally new to multicasting when I began my CCIE studies, and having achieved that certification yesterday, I can tell you that Beau's book really opened the door for me on a topic that just isn't covered well elsewhere.

The only recommendation I'd make to readers is that if the first 10 chapters aren't quite sinking in, go through the actual configuration chapters (they're at the back of the book), and then reread the theory chapters. It worked for me.

Summary: Excellent IP Multicast Book
Review: Excellent technical details with excellent design examples re-enforcing the underlying technical issues and points. Book is very thorough and clear in explaining all topics. Very well written, organized, and executed. Highly recommended source for multicast information.

Summary: Delightful and very very informative the best in my opinion
Review: Great read and great humor !! By the end of it all, Beau Williamson leaves you a master in this subject and you begin to wonder why anyone said that the subject was a hard one to grasp !!

A must read - esp from the CCIE point of view too !!

Summary: Excellent! The most precise book on Multicasting
Review: I read this book after getting information from various web sites and after reading many other books. This book has the most complete and precise information about IP Multicasting and has addressed several issues that were out of sight for me. It has many configuration examples and I think this is the best book to read if you want to get the most precise knowledge on multicasting.

Summary: Excellent! The most precise book on IP Multicasting
Review: I read this book after reading a lot of materials from different web sites. I also read many books and this book addressed most topics that were out of sight for me. This book also has configuration issues and a lot of information that is not available else where. I would say that this is the best book on IP Multicasting I have ever read.

Summary: Excellent IP Multicast resource for CCIE studying!
Review: If you are preparing for CCIE lab don't worry about collecting information on IP Multicast from different sources. This will be your one and only one resource! Excellent! You know when you read a part of the book that explains some complex feature, and you have these doubts/questions pop-up in your head one after another. And you just hope that they will be cleared/answered in one of the next pages. And guess what? This book is perfect in this sense. I haven't had a single question on the topic that wasn't correctly/clearly answered.

Summary: Finally! Someone Get's It.
Review: Multicast is a pain to learn only because most authors make it seem like rocket science. FINALLY an author who gets it right! Presenting in a logical manner and with an understanding of his audience.
I picked up what I needed to know with multicast for the CCIE lab exam in just a few evenings with this book. That was the end of a 6 month search for a good reference.
The chapters IP PIM DENSE, IP PIM SPARSE, IMPLEMENTING IP PIM DENSE, IMPLEMENTINT IP PIM SPARSE, are worth the cost of the book alone, but you get much more.
