Review: This book has helped me so much, and I have only had it for two weeks. I was brand new to lightwave, and look at a lot of online tutorials and never could get them right. After I got Inside lightwave 8 I have made serial models from the work section, and some of my own. Great book, must have for newbie's.

Review: This book is certainly the most comprehensive book compiled for any software package that I ever read (and I do multimedia and cg to start:D )
Firstly I can certainly say no other LW Tutor has covered what Dan has covered in this bible. I am relatively experienced in the 3d field and there is still so much to learn from this book. Then there is the 4 GB DVD which is jam packed with essentials and video tutorials for any 3d artist. Then to add 'insult' there are extra video downloads available on dan's site for FREE. Kudos to Dan's efficient work style.
I would have certainly paid double the price for this platinum trinket.
If you're a new, or current LW user, don't think just buy, you have my word that you will not regret this beautiful investment

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: This book is simply excellent , it covers so many many things(over 1000 pages!!!). One of the best things is the new quick start chapter wich lets u start using lightwave immediatley without having to read so many pages telling u this tool is so and so and keep wondering what would be the benefit of that ...
Also the book covers diff tech of modelling (box,spline,point by point)and so many other things (lights,texturing,animation)and if u still don't find that to be enough u r also supplied with a DVD that includes 5 hours of video tutorials...

Summary: Worth every penny!
Review: This is by far the best written handbook on anything that I have ever read softwarewise.Most books that I have read were either too technical, too uninvolving, or uninspiring that I would get so frustrated and have to invest in even more books to fully comprehend the material. Inside Lightwave 8's format is pretty much the same with other books, but the difference is in Dan Alban's writing which is very engaging and there seems to be great care in making sure you understand the workings of Lightwave. He makes it sound so easy. With most books, I have to read the passages several times before I get it, but with this book I have had no problems understanding the material and find myself gobbling up the pages at a fast rate. I am glad I invested in this very thick, 946 page book! :-)
