Rating: Summary: The best MFC companion Review: Are you still amazed what's going on behind the scenes? If yes, buy this! It's a great book to enjoy exploration of MFC. Navigate with it and then try yourself. You'll probably find America... I would say, authors have taken a great pain to construct such a good material.

Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Easily the most informative MFC book in the market. Unlike the typical MFC books being sold in most book stores today which are mostly littered with AppWizard code, this book actually talks about how MFC works and does an extremely good job in doing so. If you are a serious MFC programmer who wants to know how MFC really works undercover then buy this book.
Rating: Summary: A Must for C++ Programmers Review: Every MFC VC++ programmer should have it. I explains the workings of windows very well. However, the book is too compact and should become a set of books. I wish that they would have covered more topics like TCP/IP and Sockets, and given some direction on how to make some of these things in the book practicle. All in all it is a good book.
Rating: Summary: Great Stuff Review: Generally good for MFC internals, but can include more on MFC COM programming (esp. controls)
Rating: Summary: The chapters about OLE/COM are excellent Review: I bought this book because an reviewer mentioned it has a nice coverage of COM/OLE. After reading these chapters (11 to 15), I think this book explained the topic extremely well. Only these chapters are worth the money many times. I has many books, such as Inside OLE, Inside COM, Inside DCOM, Professional MFC with VC5, essential COM, Programming Windows with MFC. But this book explained OLE in a better way. After I read this book, I can quickly understand related topics in other books.
Rating: Summary: Also good for COM beginners Review: I bought this book for soliding my MFC ground (It surely satisied me). When I needed to extend my programming task to COM, I read the chapter11-15 for the beginning. the author really tell me what is under the hood. Only these five chapters overworth the price tag. Hats off to the author. Million Thanks.
Rating: Summary: A must have for any serious MFC developers Review: I highly recommand this book to those who feel that they have a solid understanding of MFC and how to use its classes. This book focuses on the 'architecture and the implementations' of MFC rather than how-to-use-MFC or how-to-use-MFC-without-using-class-lizard. Truly a great book if you want to know what is happening under the hood
Rating: Summary: The Best Book to uncover the intricacies of the VC wizards! Review: I think this is possibly the definative text on MFC all the rest are superficial at best! This book is for people with 2 years + experience in VC++ programming. I am saying this because only then you really begin to appreciate what MFC is all about and you have a good grip on MFC already. This is not for the weak hearted or the lazy! Also Scott Wingo when is the next release?
Rating: Summary: Excellent MFC Internals discussion Review: I used this book as my primary study material for the Using Visual C++ w/ MFC MCSD exam and passed on the first try (800+).This book does a great job of describing how MFC works and what the sections are trying to accomplish.
