Rating: Summary: Don't bother Review: I have found many reasons that I wish I had not bought these books. Here are a few: 1) The entire six volume series is written by the same guy who wrote Books Online. In fact, the explanations are identical word for word, so if something is not clear in BOL, these books will do nothing to provide more insight; 2) BOL contains lots more than do these books. To quote the introduction (page 1), "All told, there was about three times as much [BOL] material as there was room in the SQL Server 2000 Reference Library". So the books are an abridged copy of BOL; 3) The books do not appear to include the September 2001 update; 4) The index does not include page numbers, just volume and chapter; 5) The page header on all 1000+ pages of the T-SQL Language Reference says "T-SQL Language Reference" so it's nearly impossible to locate anything and it's useless as a desk reference; 6) It contains the same "Related Topic" links as BOL, but of course you can't click to get there and the index only tells you what chapter to look in. So save your money, or invest it in three or four useful references.

Rating: Summary: No comment, Review: This book is more than reference, it helped me to understand everything what I needed and to resolve all the problems that I had have on SQL server 2000 (it is not for dummies). Very good organized (reed how to use this book carefully). DVD included inside the book, it is vary helpful. You can install the MSDN 2000 in your computer and if you have time you can watch and listen around 60 hours movies of discourses about MSDN 2000. I was using different books reading on Replication Chapter but when I bought this book I understood almost every thing about Replication, it has 336 pages to reed and 3 hours movies discussion just for replication. This book is must have for them who gonna work with SQL server.
Rating: Summary: It is definitely heavy Review: This bookshelf reference is an edited subset of content that can be found in the MSDN reference. The books are thorough, but lack good organization. In fact, in some of the books there is no index! I found these books to be pretty useless, and I've tried to return to them many times to justify the purchase and shelf space. They make a terrible reference (because of the lack of index) and only a mediocre tutorial. This COULD have been a great collection... if only it had been better organized and indexed in a more useful way.
Rating: Summary: Dont buy, its a copy of BOL Review: with at few additional pages from MSDN. Very, very disappointed !
