Summary: best available source
Review: As an aspiring web designer I picked up 3 books on the subject of learning Dreamweaver 4. Ms. Warner in 'DUMMIES' leads you through the program without losing you, and at a comfortable pace: the information never gets too dense. The other books either used undefined terms or combined intro and advanced materials together. I recommend this book as the only beginning source necessary (it's the only one I'm using).

Summary: Quick read
Review: I like Dummies books because they lack a tutorial - this book gets right to the point. I prefer to dive right into my project and work it out as I go. I am familiar with other web editors, but new to Dreamweaver and this book has given me the overview that I wanted without having to suffer through a tutorial I didn't really want to work on or mounds and mounds of detail that I don't even need (or that I can find on the web somewhere else.) My web site is relatively simple, though large, so the Dummies book fit the bill.

Summary: Great book for beginning and intermediate users
Review: I was a beginning Dreamweaver user who had a little bit of experience using HTML. This turned out to be a great book for me and I'd recommend it to anyone except maybe an advanced Dreamweaver user (I guess that's why it's for Dummies...)

Summary: May Be the Very Best Dreamweaver Tutorial
Review: I'm a technical writer and website builder who asked the webmaster of a national PC manufacturer's site what was the very best book to buy to learn MacroMedia's Dreamweaver -- and he said without missing a beat, "Believe it or not, get DREAMWEAVER FOR DUMMIES! You can go to college with web engineers learning this stuff and you'll see them carrying this book around." Need I say more?

Summary: Good For Newbies
Review: Like most Dummies books Dreamweaver 4 For Dummies is an overview for Dreamweaver. For any basic information this book is great. But it is only ok when it comes to advanced stuff like CSS. This book only has around 15 chapters, which is much different from the 25-35 chapters other dummies books have. Having big chapters can make it hard to find the info you are looking for. I would recommend this book for anyone who is new to a WYSIWYG program. But for people coming from another editor you might want to look for a more advanced book.

Summary: Easy
Review: This book is extremely easy to use, but you should have somewhat of a background on the subject.
