Summary: Comic Book Style Gets The Job Done.
Review: I was struggling trying to learn a WYSIWYG web page program when I came across this book. I could not put it down in the bookstore and took it home to help me get through my problem areas while developing a first time web page for my business. While all my questions weren't answered, I believe it helped me out with about 80 percent of my challenges (therefore a 4-star rating from me). In college a couple of decades ago, I struggled with BASIC, COBOL and SIMSCRIPT languages, so I have never been one for writing code. But coupled with a WYSIWYG program, going into the source code with information from this book truly did help. Probably the best primer for anyone with an interest in HTML. Well worth the price for me.

Summary: Impressive
Review: I'm quite impressed and satisfied with this book and with the entire Simplified series. This book presents an excellent introduction to and overview of creating web pages with html. It is very accessible to beginners and provides useful information for more experienced users. For visual learners (like myself), the illustrations are a great help.

It's challenging to take a complex subject and express it simply, clearly, concisely, and comprehensively. This book meets the challenge.

Other books in the Simplified series are listed on Amazon.com under the author name Ruth Maran. A similar series (which I also enjoy very much) by the same author is the Teach Yourself Visually series.

As time progresses, however, I am of the opinion that with today's html editors (like Microsoft FrontPage 2000) there becomes less and less of a need to know html.

Summary: This book works! Small and colorful, you can't go wrong.
Review: Pictures, pictures and more pictures. This book gives full color screen shots for every single step of making and uploading a web page (and a friendly little cartoon guide leads the discussion). Even the simple things, like changing the color of text on a web page, come with graphically pleasing pictures to show the way.

I used this book to create my web pages at TwoAgePress. If you are like me, you don't want to read a thick computer manual, you just want to know how to make a web page. Well, you need look no longer, this book is what you need if you want to make a painless leap into web page creation. No special training is required -- this book is for everyone!

Summary: Wonderful introduction to HTML!
Review: This book attracted me because of the use of full-color pictures and examples on every page. I think this is extremely important when starting to learn HTML because you're creating something that is ultimately visual. It really teaches you the basics and gives you a good foundation for advanced study in the future. I definitely recommend it for beginners!

Summary: Good book for beginners but has limited information
Review: This book is nice for beginners. It keeps the reader's interest and is very colorful. It is certainly a good book to start learning HTML. However, the drawback is that it does not even list the other related HTML tags besides those emphasised in the book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A marvelous beginning guide for HTML
