Review: This book is written with the typical easy-to-understand, lightly humorous style that is common among Dummies books. Don't, however, mistake easy-to-understand for too simplistic, however. There are some pretty advanced topics covered in the book (especially in the section on "Networking Fundamentals"), but it describes them in such a way that they seem downright simple. I would recommend it to anyone who's preparing to take the IDO-410 Foundations exam.

Summary: Don't Buy This Book...
Review: This book will NOT prepare you to pass the 1D0-410. I spent 1 week preparing for this exam solely using this book. I was suprised when the test was completely different content than what is covered in the book. This is a watered-down version of what you really need to know. The Dummies series is usually informative, but I wouldn't rely on it to pass this exam. "Overly simplistic" is the best description for this book. I regret this purchase...

Summary: The only CIW study guide you need
Review: This is the most concisely written and comprehensive certification study guide I have yet discovered. I teach web technology in the classroom as well as in seminar settings and I recommend this book to all my students and attendees without hesitation. Ms. Roark writes in clear, understandable language and offers valuable advice about studying and taking the CIW certification exam including how to interpret the tricky questions and which topic areas to focus the most attention on. A must have for anyone in the web/internet field as well as for those preparing for the foundations exam.

Review: This is the only book I used to study for the Fundations exam and I passed with an 88 percent. I think it is very adequate for the exam,The CD Exam was great
if you want to pass this exam read all the Book and solve all or some of the CD exam question

Summary: Great info at a good price
Review: When I bought this book, I assumed, since it was cheaper than the other Foundations books, that it wouldn't be as good as one of the more expensive ones (like the Bible book, which I also bought). I was surprised, though, at how good it is. The thing I like the most is that it gets right to the point. It doesn't cover things you don't need to know for the test, but covers everything you do need to know. I couldn't find any errors to speak of, which right away makes it better than the other books on this topic I've seen. It's easy to read, sometimes funny and covers all the info without wasting your time.
