Rating: Summary: A must-read for anyone who uses MPE/IX Review: Finally, a well-thought out, well laid-out book covering a little broached topic. When I 1st became involved in MPE over 2 years ago, there were NO books outside the dry(read: arid) HP manuals. The book covers every topic that an adminstrator may have to address. Filled w/real-world examples, and actually written in english (w/ a little tongue-in-cheek interspersed throughout), it's a definite must-read for everyone, beginners to advanced. I keep this book on my desk, as it is a great reference. Kudos.
Rating: Summary: GOOD BOOK FOR HP BEGINNERS Review: I was very disappointed with this book. It mainly concentrated on the basics and not enough on the technical aspects. I would not recommend this book for anyone that already has 6 months to 1 yrs worth of experience, you most likely already possess this knowledge. I bought the book because it had a section that discussed performance tuning, again this section only captured the basics. If you are a beginner this book is excellent and does present examples that are very well explained.
