Summary: Exactly the book I needed to get up to speed with OS X
Review: I've looked at some of the other books about Mac OS X, and this one stood out by its clarity and the author's avoidance of talking down to the reader or confusing them. As an intermediate Mac user - I've used Macs for a few years, but only recently upgraded to Mac OS X - I found this to be the best compromise between a beginner's book (I'm no dummy) and some of the more advanced door-stop books.

Not only does this book cover everything I need to know, but it's easy to read, simple to understand and fun. In addition, there's an interesting section in the middle of the book where the author interviews three writers - Arthur Golden, who wrote on of my favorite novels, Memoirs of a Geisha, Mike Rich, a screenwriter, who wrote Finding Forrester, and Jeff Abbott, who is a suspense writer. This is an attractive way of tying together the purely instructive part of such a book with some more interesting thoughts on how people use their Macs.
