Rating: Summary: The best and only JNCIP-M guide so far!!! Review: Excellent! I managed to pass the JNCIP-M Lab exam on my 1st attempt, thanks to the help of this great book. All 6 chapters opened up my eyes to what an M/T series router loaded with JunOS can really do. Each chapter goes through the configuration options available, what i liked most was that the author also displayed how to perform verification of his configurations. This is really useful if you do not have a lab of routers like me. (I had to remember what i did during work, and fiddle around whenever i got the chance) By the end of the book, you will most probably know ALMOST every configuration option under the following hierarchy Levels - [edit system] - [edit snmp] - [edit routing-options] - [edit protocols] RIP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP - [edit policy-options] - [edit interfaces] - [edit chassis] All-in-all, a wonderful book to add to your book collection because it encompasses ALL the infomation that a JNCIP-M should know during the exam and out in the field. Lastly, am hoping that the JNCIE version of this book will be just as FANTASTIC....
Rating: Summary: Excellent Juniper Content: for certification or reference Review: Harry's JNCIP and JNCIE books won't put you to sleep or remind you of free documentation that is available on the Internet. They cover each JUNOS feature in-depth and apply the features to a "lab network" throughout each chapter. I believe I own every book published with Juniper content and these stand out in my collection. You won't find chapters wasting time with an overview of TCP/IP, the OSI model, or basic IP routing. Buy these books even if you not are taking the lab exams. They will help with the your real world configurations of all the IGPs, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, CoS, IPv6, and multicast protocols. I think they are great for the Cisco engineers that need to get up to speed with Juniper M-series routers. These books belong with the Jeff Doyle books that are already on our bookshelves.

Rating: Summary: Passed JNCIP Lab Review: I passed my JNCIP lab using this book and have scheduled my JNCIE for August 2004. I highly recommend this book to anyone that supports Juniper routers or plans to take the exam.
Rating: Summary: Superb book superb quality Review: If you are appearing for JNCIP or read how the routing protocols operate in a multi protocol environment with Juniper routers, your best bet is JNCIP book. The book covers lot of scenarios and case studies in great detail. The author/editors need to be commended for such scintillating efforts on publishing a very good book on Juniper routers. This book not only can be used for preparing for the JNCIP exam but also you can put it in your library for reference. But one thing is for sure, this is a great book and better to have a copy f it. I have benefitted by going through this book.
Rating: Summary: Well Worth It.! Review: In my opinion this is one if the best book I have read. It is not a book about JUNOS basics or technology basic, you are assumed to have at atleast a JNCIS level of knowledge with prior knowledge of JUNOS. The book walks you through what seems to be every possible exam topic that you can encounter when going for your JNCIP exam. In addition to these topic discussions, the author does an excellent job in showing you the commands to configure the task at hand, verify your work and the steps you should take in working your way through a problem. He gives you tips throughout the material and gives you different solutions to a problem. At the end of each chapter, you have a case study that he walks you through and last but not least, some questions to see if you can spot the problem which really enforces the material you just read. This book is one of the best written books I have read. It is easy to follow and understand and you will love some of the humor he throws in. It shed some light on topics that I had missed when I took my JNCIP exam and has made me much better prepared to tackle it the next time around. It is worth the $$. -Mario Puras

Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Review: The JNCIP book is a must have on your bookshelf!. The author takes you through almost every possible config senario from EBGP downwards, explaining how to configure and verify all your results. The book reinforces your understanding of all topics in a way unlike those normally dry tech books. I recommend the book wholeheartly for the JNCIP exam but also it is a very pleasant (authors' use of humour is quite novell!) way to increase/strengthen you knowledge of the covered topics, so can be used as a reference tool as well. Next, the JNCIE!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: This book is the best single source of information for preparation for the JNCIP-M lab exam. The book reads easily, configurations given are well explained and with the case studies at the end of each chapter you can test your knowledge and practise. I believe this book helped me to pass the JNCIP-M exam, it also deepened my knowledge about subjects I thought I already knew well.
