Rating: Summary: What a mess Review: This book was a total mess. Jumps around from subject to subject. Very hard to follow.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Unlike some other prep books, the chapters contain exercises that make you perform the skills discussed. It also includes helpful multimedia demonstrations on the CD-ROM. The CD also contains 120-day Exchange 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Server evaluations and supplemental course materials. The Outlook 2000 evaluation is useless because its expired regardless of what date or time your system is set at. This is a confirmed problem on Microsoft's Technet website. This is insignificant since you may already have Outlook 2000 that was installed with Microsoft Office 2000. At over 1,000 pages, its a hefty reference to complement Exchange 2000.
Rating: Summary: A bit of overkill but still a good book to have around. Review: Working on the transition to Exchange 2000 is a project that I am involved with. I am using the Resource Kit for a lot of planning and deployment ideas. I think that with book as a compliment to this book I will be able to pass the exam. I found that there are over 80 labs in the book and coupled with the 120 day evaluation of the software this make it easier to process the concepts. What I found was that unlike some of the other Microsoft Press books, this one does not seems to flow as well from topic to topic. Also being new to the Exchange 2000 Arena, I also thought this book may have been written to those with a little more experience. Although I did like the deployment, public folders and especially the Outlook Web Access section, since they apply more to what I am working on. Overall I think this book can be a handy and useful tool if it was scaled down to every technical level.
