Summary: Easy To Digest Format
Review: I have struggled with learning NT for quite some time. This package is great if you are looking for an organized and well thought out approach for learning NT. The CDs are very helpful, and simulate better than others than I have worked with. After going through the lessons, I feel much more confident, and am not so intimidated by the testing phase!

Summary: Everything you need for Networking Essentials Exam
Review: I just took the Networking Essentials exam on 1/20. It's not an easy exam by any means but this book will give you everything you need to be prepared for the exam. Make sure you pay special attention to the OSI model!

Summary: Well laid out and informative
Review: I obtained this book to learn about networking, having had experience with computers but limited networking experience. The book was very informative and had alot of basic technical information in it. The third edition is well laid out, with good overviews at the beginning of each chapter, and a helpful summaries and case scenarios. A lot of material is covered, without getting over-detailed in any one section.

Summary: Microsoft Networking Essentials PLUS for sure!
Review: Microsoft has a reputation for producing some of the toughest exams going. CompTIA has a reputation for producing tough exams as well, so which one is better? Microsoft Press has combined the two and given you a training kit that will enable you to pass both exams.

This 650 plus page book is broken down into chapters covering Intro to networking, media, architecture, operating systems, standards and others. Each chapter is broken down into lessons about the chapters with a lesson summary and chapter review.

There is also a cd included that has demos that correspond with different sections that need to be played when the book instructs you to. Each chapter has exercises and review questions and the cd includes the entire book electronically.

Understanding that both Microsoft Networking Essentials and CompTIA's Network+ are very important, it is great to know that now there is a way to pass both exams in one shot. Overall the price of the book definitely outweighs the cost of not passing the exam.

Summary: Everythign you need
Review: Superb book for Networking. Pretty much everything you need for architecture planning. You will also need a good tcp/ip book and then you are set.

Summary: Somewhat deceptive
Review: This is a good book for beginers; it gives you a good base knowledge for other exams in an understandible manner. But don't by this book with the hopes of getting your MCP certification. The testing for Networking Essentials (70-085) was ended in november. Yet they still call it a MCSE training kit. Also, do a lot of reasearch outside of the book.
