Review: I have the 1992 edition. This book is not for the Joe Blow 'computer professional'. It is intensely academic. This book is NOT in 'lay' terms...also, it often glazes over EXTREMELY complex topics. The level of diction for this book is fairly high. Not recommended for your dime store MCSE.

Summary: Provides a nice overview but not much depth
Review: This book provides a overview of how the computer operates internally, but lacks in real world or specific examples. Many of the questions/examples are overly generic because the author tries to cover many platforms instead of just one or two major platforms.
