Rating: Summary: Great book. Review: If you really want to learn PASCAL, buy this book. It teaches you the structured programming concepts through real-life examples and solved drills.
Rating: Summary: Good book to start with Review: It is really a good book to start with. Though you can't learn any language in three days but this book gives a push to start doing some thing. And most of the basic concepts are cleared with this book.
Rating: Summary: good Review: it's goo
Rating: Summary: A good entry book Review: Its probably a good introductory book for those wanting to study computer science at college. I have only taken a cursory look at the book, but I feel that it presents material in a simple and gentle manner. Recommended for all beginners.
Rating: Summary: The main features of Learn Pascal in Three Days Review: This book is designed to teach you Pascal in a very short period of time. The method used in the book is that of learning by example. You start with simple programs which crunch some numbers and print some strings, and you end up with useful applications using structured programs.
The goal of this book is to teach you how to write a portable program in Pascal regardless of the computer you use, so the standard IEEE/ANSI will mainly be used but the new features will be discussed and their origins referred to. The book is not intended to go into the details of the nonportable areas of the language (such as graphics), but rather to make use of the powerful features of the modern implementations (especially Turbo Pascal) that help in data processing. The programs included in this book were compiled using Turbo Pascal, but you can use any compiler to run them.
I recommend the book for college students and for serious beginners.
Rating: Summary: Terrific! Review: This book makes me really, really hard
Rating: Summary: Great book for beginners learning the language! Review: This is a great book for beginners wanting to learn the Pascal language. It is easy to read and doesn't "squash you" with too many details. The chapters are broken into easily digestable pieces. One of the drawbacks to the book is it makes the assumption that you already have a basic understanding of the various mathematic examples in the book. Overall, this book is a good starting point for learning Pascal. It won't give you everything you need to sit down and start programming monster applications, but it will give you enough knowledge to be dangerous. You can start creating some pretty cool stuff right away after reading this book.
