Rating: Summary: Useful but limited Review: Nice tips and tricks for someone that dosen't want to go that deep into Photoshop but still be able to produce decent textures for 3D. Being the only book on the subject I have to say it's the best =), but if you are seriuos about Photoshop as a 3D artist (which you should) you'll be better off getting one of those "in depth" Photoshop books. Like that you should be able to figure out what this book has to say by yourself.
Rating: Summary: Good down-to-earth writing with indepth explanations. Review: Though I haven't finished the book, I am particularly impressed with the down-to-earth writing style of the author. I especially appreciate that he explains the roles the different tools you will be using have in the creative process. I also like the variety of texture creation he explores. He gives the reader the knowledge to create a wide range of texture maps.
Rating: Summary: A must have for any 3D artist who uses Photoshop! Review: Wether you create 3D imagery for games, film, print or the world wide web, this book belongs on your X-Mas list. By following the wealth of easy to understand tutorials you'll learn how to make your 3D imagery sing with realism. Definitely the best book I've ever seen on the art of texture mapping and surfacing 3D models. Highly recommended!
