Rating: Summary: Publishing Pronto Review: Frontpage is a simple yet practical program - and the same could be said for this book. It's perfect if you want to get a simple webpage online in a matter of hours. It covers the features of the program for easy reference in the order you choose to learn them. This is my second "Visual Quickstart Guide" and I plan to buy many more - there is no easier/faster way to learn the basics of a computer program than these excellent, concise books.

Rating: Summary: For Beginners Only Review: I am hard-pressed in how to rate this book. In terms of usefulness for me, this would rate one star. Others, however, may get a lot more out of it. This book basically takes you through all the menu items of Frontpage 2000. It does this well. The writing is clear and the book well illustrated. On the other hand, there is no information here you couldn't get through experimentation and using the online help. If you are uncomfortable with computers and want to learn to use Frontpage to do simple web pages, this might be a good book for you. If, however, you know a lot about computers but are new to Frontpage, you will probably find this book to be a waste of time and money.

Rating: Summary: Good for beginners or as a quick refrence guide Review: I was very impressed with this book. It was the text book for my front page class and it had to be the easiest to use. And it doesn't have those stupid long tutorials. Mr. Hester makes it easy to get out of the book what you want. The only problems I had were with Front Page itself. My class found over 30 bugs in the software.

Rating: Summary: A visual book for visul people Review: In teaching my first class of Frontpage 2000, I had to introduce a textbook, and it took me a long time to find this suitable one. It starts from cratches and gets you to a level which enables you to design your first website without trouble. Lots of helpful pictures with ample practical examples accompany the text. The only con of the book is that in the first two chapters, the author tries to introduce almost all the options and icons altogether which makes learners a bit confused. All in all it is the answer to the need of dummies.
Rating: Summary: Good book for those who like to learn by doing. Review: Like other books I have read in the "Visual Quick Start" series, this is a very good, concise guide to using FrontPage. My only reservation is with FrontPage itself. If you only want to produce amateur web pages go ahead and use FrontPage. The site management tools are good. But for the more ambitious web page desinger, I strongly recommend the Macromedia products: Flash, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver, along with Adobe PhotoShop.

Rating: Summary: An excellent, user friendly, "quick study" guide. Review: Nolan Hester's Frontpage For Windows 2000 provides beginning and intermediate users alike with a visual start which avoids long paragraphs of explanation in favor of sample screens and black and white visuals. Pictures provide excellent, quick study guides to the software, exploring how to use it and how to apply it to various projects.
