Rating: Summary: Learn nothing fast Review: This book was a serious disappointment. You would think a book about Flash would USE Macromedia flash for the tutorial CD - just like the tutorials that come with flash do in the help files. NO, instead you get a RIDICULOUS Real-video presentation with the poor author babbling uncomfortably in the corner of the screen, completely out-of-sync with what is going on in the Real-Media movie of the flash interface (not an actual flash interface!). Also, the book is slow, tedious, and under-informative too. Every simple action lists a dozen steps describing the micro-actions that make up the step. It's almost like describing a mouse-click like this: 1. Raise hand 2. Extend hand toward mouse 3. Rest hand on mouse 4. Extend index finger forward 5. Apply pressure with the same index finger upon the left button of the mouse, being careful not to affect the right button. Do not move the wheel on the mouse, should you have one. (Some mice have wheels on them to allow for vertical scrolling in a window from anywhere on the screen). 6. Depress the button. 7. Pay attention for an audible "clicking" sound. 8. Release the button.</P> I don't intend to be mean - the author seems like a nice person, but I expect to get what I paid for - and I didn't. Maybe the editors need to get their act together or something. Big thumb down.
Rating: Summary: Informative and excellent! Review: This book was excellent for me. I am just starting out to learn Flash and needed plenty of help. The CD-ROM VIDEOS that go with the book are a plus with much valuable information to be easily learned. I will continue to have much use for this book and CD as I progress with Flash. I highly recommend this book/CD to all interested in an informative and valuable tool for working with Flash.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: This book was so cool. It was like taking a real class only better because I could stop it and replay it anytime I wanted. I've never seen anything like this where you get the book and an instructor at the same time. It's presented in a really interesting way. Not boring. And I've been trying to learn Flash with several books. So far this one has taught me the most. I highly recommend this book/CD. I hope this company puts out more like this. What a grat way to learn.
Rating: Summary: This classroom delivers the goods Review: This book/cd pairing sets a high standard for computer instruction. For most people, it is dry and difficult to master a new program with only the manual in hand. This package eliminates that problem with a CD containing excellent video instruction to accompany the informative text in the book. Having the author on video as your instructor, it truly does constitute a virtual classroom. I found both the book and the videos to be useful and informative. Together, they made the learning process much easier.
Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Review: This guy makes it all look so easy..He repeats the steps..explains them in english, and really helps you "get it". For all you peeps learning the trivial program, FLASH..YOu need this. I bought this to supplement the class I was taking on Flash cause my teacher couldn't explain it half as good as this book/CD did.

Rating: Summary: Can't get better than this. Review: This is my very first book review. And, I am compelled to say that out of 5 Flash books I own, all of which are thick & heavy "bibles" to "reference" books, this tops them all! I wish I had obtained this as my first Flash book. That would have saved me SO much time and money to quickly grasp a truly useful Flashabilities. The book's content is no-nonsense, to-the-point, and w/ the pertinent graphics tutorials and references. And, the interactive CD-rom: Wow!!! Just sit back and watch the pro make it so easy for you learn to apply to your own pages. This has been my #1 tutorial/reference book. And, I can't wait to get my hands on the author's next book.

Rating: Summary: The ultimate learning guide Review: This is the way an instructional book should be written. It was so easy to work with to learn something that was completely foreign to me. I highly reccomend this book to everyone. It is so clear & consise. As I try to learn more of what I can do with my computer, I will look for more books written by this author.
