Summary: Step-by-step, visual instructions for using any feature!
Review: Hi everybody, I'm Steve Nelson, the author of the Outlook 2000 At A Glance book. This new edition of the Outlook At A Glance book, like its bestselling predecessor, provides visual, step-by-step descriptions for accomplishing just about any Outlook task you can imagine. What this means is that this really isn't a book you sit down and read in one setting--although I suppose you could do that. Rather, it's really a desktop reference--sort of like a "computer" cookbook--that you grab whenever you have need to do something but don't know how. When you do have some question about Outlook, then, you look up the task in either the table of contents or the index and then turn to the page and follow the appropriate step-by-step instructions. I should also mention that it was really a big advantage to do this book with Microsoft Press since, by working directly with Microsoft, I really felt that I was able to get better information about the Outlook program. And I think that means I was able to write a better book for you, the reader! Sincerely, Steve Nelson P.S. If it's not too bold, let me mention that I've also written another book on Outlook, the Microsoft Pocket guide to Outlook 2000. That book, a pocket-sized A to Z reference, is also available from amazon.com and may be of interest to some readers.

Summary: Easy, Fast Information on Outlook
Review: I knew there were many features of Outlook that I hadn't explored, so chose this book to expand my knowledge. The simple, well-laid out format of the pages allows you to focus on just the information you need. You can read the book from cover-to-cover, or flip just to specific sections (as I did). The illustrations are very useful and informative. You'll be up and running in no time on Outlook with this guide. Then after you've used Outlook for a while, open up the book again and re-explore sections and you'll find even more useful features of Outlook that you can use to make it a powerful tool to manage your dailiy activities.

Summary: Good basic info on how to use without a lot of nonsense
Review: I like using this style of guide for learning, teaching and referencing. It is straight forward, usually correct, easy to find topics, and arranged by a "most likely" way to present the information without a lot of excessive explanation. Probably a little shallow for programmers, but for us users it is very good
