Summary: Great book!!
Review: This was an excellent book that will teach you a ton of stuff, and is very worth every penny. It was easy to read, and it gives you a very firm foundation of practices to use in producing object oriented code. There are times while reading this book that I would actually shout out because of how simple this guy makes it! If there is a downside to my review it would be that there is nothing about components or using listeners, but this will get you geared towards that by teaching you sound techniques that you should have if you want to build them! There are two OOP books for flash out there, and I couldn't say which one is better, so the only solution is .... Get them both!! This one and the one by Sam Wan and Branden Hall. You will be a scripting god!

Review: what this book will teach you is how to apply some basic OOP-Technics in Flash MX. It is not that much about advanced Flash rather about OOP in Flash. So buy it if you are Flasher how wants to gain OOP Knowledge.
It is very Instructional and easy to read. All Chapters are excellent written and keep very simple, so you can quickly get a Point.
Pay attention to Chapters 12 to 14, they will give you an invaluable aspects how to extend a MovieClip-Class in a tidy and reusable manner. Although it doesn't go really deep, it is the best place to start if you don't have any or little OOP Knowledge. i'll giv it a five stars couse it realy hits the Title of the book. The Author does not claim that this is the mostadvenced ActionScript you can get. The Title is Object-Oriented Macromedia Flash MX and that is what this book talk about.

Review: Your money is very well spent on this book. One of the greatest, and well-written books about ActionScript, ever. Very clear and complete. By the time you finish the book, you will be more than ready to write your own dynamite ActionScript code thanks to William Drol. He has become my un-sung hero already. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain with this book. If you are very serious about ActionScript, you owe this book to yourself. Go for it...
