Summary: The very best book currently available for learning PSE
Review: I carefully looked through 7 books on Photoshop Elements (PSE) and bought two. I read one pretty thoroughly but found it did not give me a good handle on the tools and techniques in PSE. The other book did not really teach the program but showed ways to handle specific problems. Then I came across this book and bought it. What a pleasure. The book is lucid and well organized. Generally, the teaching approach is to take a small project and show you step by step how various tools and techniques are used. The book is full color and the authors show you in color exactly what happens each time a tool or technique is applied. Many other books on the market do not have full color nor do they show all that is being done; they rely instead on descriptive prose. The subject here concerns visual material and to learn it we need to see what happens when we apply a tool or technique. A valuable bonus is the free technical support web site that you can use to ask questions via e-mail for clarifying difficulties. I found their answers to my questions to be clear and thorough. In my opinion, it is by far the very best book currently available for learning PSE. You will not go wrong with this book.

The authors discontinued their support line and you have to rely on forums that may or may not answer your questions. So if you buy this book because it has tutorials on a CD I would not recommend it.
