Rating: Summary: Buy it! Review: Even an odd glance at this book whilst rendering tests or previews will change the way you work. Some tricks and tips will take seconds to read but will save hours of your life. Some tips are common sense ideas only picked up from years of experience but others are flashes of genius from the best Lightwave artists in the world. Well worth the money and probably the best Lightwave learning guide I have bought.
Rating: Summary: The best lightwave tricks there is! Review: I must say that i have bought loads of lighwave books in my time, but no one is as helpful in my ordinary day of work like this book. Its simply awasome! It has loads of tips that isnt covered in any other lightwave book! Buy it!
Rating: Summary: A really valuable resource Review: I was expecting a lot from this book and I must say it was more than I had hoped for. There are so many helpful little things that I have picked up while browsing this book and I'm not even half way through it. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to enhance their knowledge of Lightwave.
Rating: Summary: More is more Review: I'm one of the authors, so take that into account. Still, there are around thirty authors total so I'm at most 1/30th biased.
That being said, this is a real standout among LightWave books and one I'm proud to be part of. The strength is in the numbers - never before have you gotten such a wide and varied number of opinions in one place. Because there are so many different approachs to creating 3D art, this book is really a must own and it's a book you'll go back to again and again. I keep a copy on my desk, within easy reach and I pick it up for reference or for some quick reading during a render.
It also covers a wide variety of topics, from lighting to surfacing to LScripts. Not every tip is something I agree with, but that's the beauty of this book - there's just so much information here that you'll be finding new things to think about or to add to your work for years to come.
Rating: Summary: An amazing resource! Review: I've just finished reading this book from cover to cover and have to say that it's one of the best resources for Lightwave tips I've read! If you keep reference books by your computer, pick up a copy of this one. You'll be referring back to it constantly!JP
Rating: Summary: An important book Review: If you really want to understand the essentials of how Lightwave works..from concept to how to deal with all those files on the computer then this book is a must. I have been working with Lightwave for 3 intensive years now...I have many many tapes, CD's, DVD's lightwave Inside, magic tours, seminars etc. This book has the answers to many many everyday issues that haven't thus far been covered. I can't recommend it enough.
Rating: Summary: The Rosetta stone for LW Review: The de facto, absolute must own Lightwave book. Whether your an industry Lightwave professional or brand new to Lightwave this book can not disappoint you. Its not just that the material covers all areas of Lightwave but it provides new takes on old as well as new techniques, ideas and theories. If you own every Lightwave book written or have never bought one, do yourself a favor and buy this one and then clear a spot next to your computer to keep because you will always want it within fingers reach.
Rating: Summary: The best lightwave book on the planet Review: This book is terrific. Not only have many industry professionals brought their tips and tricks etc together but they have shared their own words of wisdom too. There are separate sections covering everything possible that you need to know about this ace 3d program. A must buy for any lightwaver; newbie or advanced.
Rating: Summary: Tips & Tricks and so much more Review: This volume contains the insider perspective on how to make Lightwave work for you. While the title makes it sound like a bunch of sound bytes it couldn't be further off. Each tip (and trick) places itself within the production environment and shows you how to get not just from A to B but also further down the road. You can read this book straight through or jump around by topic. The biggest pay off for me is the exposure to topics I have yet to approach in Lightwave. The writing presents an easy going attitude that encourages the reader to explore the book and the software. This volume is not a primer for Lightwave but is suitable for users of all levels. Buy this book and keep it next to you, it is worth the price and more!
