Rating: Summary: better off bying something else Review: book was full of useless info. save yourself time and money and do not read this book
Rating: Summary: CH 1 badly written. Unless you already know SQL forget it. Review: Chapter One is so badly written without clear explanationsthat unless you already are very familiar with SQL AND have it loadedon a system at home/work you will be confused at what the author is attempting to convey. Further several of the illustrations do not match the actual program once loaded. Bottom Line: leave this book on the shelf and spend your money on something that will really help you.
Rating: Summary: Not worth the ink printed on it Review: Don't waste your time with this book. It contained so much useless information. There was hardly anything worth reading in it,
Rating: Summary: dissapointing for an "Unleashed" book Review: I found the whole text lacking. Very poor index. Stored procudure context extremely poor.Just not a good book.
Rating: Summary: Skip on this book Review: I had this book for a SQL class that I took and this book was NO help at all. I learned SQL soley on the handout notes that the instructor gave out during class. This book is not easy to understand if you are a beginner and if you are one then pass on this book.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding and practical guide. Many great examples. Review: I have been using SQL Unleashed for over a year, and it is the book I consult first when I have a SQL question. It has hundreds of examples, all of them extremely well explained.
Rating: Summary: Execelent reference book Review: I have read a number of SQL books for different purposes. "SQL Unleashed" stands out as an excellent reference book that nicely combines practical approach with understanding of the underlying concepts. The author has gone a great length in making the book practically useful, starting with "nuts and bolts" with plenty of examples, tips, real life experiences and "dos and don'ts".

Rating: Summary: Top SQL developer's guide!!!! Review: I love this book. Highly informative and fun to read. It makes difficult concepts understandable. The book has clarified many questions I previously head. If you buy only one book on SQL, then buy this one. Of all my books that discuss SQL, this one is the best.
Rating: Summary: A Real Stinker Review: I spent 2 weeks trying to figure out if I was a moron or dyslexic, but I was wrong... it was just that nobody proofed this book. I finally figured out that: 1) The book didn't match the disk. 2) The book didn't match SQL. 3) The book didn't match itself from one chapter to the next. 4) The book didn't match anything the help line (and I usually the term VERY loosely) knew. Their response was "Well, it's hard to catch all the errors." I finally returned it for credit. This is the ONLY book I have EVER returned for errors.
