Review: I highly recommend this dictionary on CD-ROM to anyone who learns or uses American English, particularly as a non-native speaker. It's really easy to set up the CD-ROM dictionary on your computer and use it. In addition, it includes definitions and examples of almost all words and phrases and expressions and many others you are not familiar with and want to know. I have used "NTC's Dictionary of American English Phrases," and I found out it is of great help to non-native English speakers like me. When I watch English movies and hear some unfamiliar phrases, I look up that dictionary. I got great help for many phrases from the dictionary, but not for all of what I'd like to know. So, I wanted to buy more NTC' dictionaries. I have used some online dictionaries and I knew CD-ROM dictionary would be handy. So I bought NTC's EFL Bookshelf CD-ROM. This CD-ROM dictionary is an amazing dictionary library! Yes, it is called a library. It contains 7 NTC's dictionaries: Common American Phrases; American English Leraner's Dictionary; American Idioms Dictionary; Dictionary of Acronyms and Abbreviations; Dictionary of American Slang; Dictionary of Phrasal Verbs; and Dictionary of Proverbs and Cliches. There are thousands of entries and exmaples and many good features including 'gallery' where you can see graphic images of any entries including birds, animals, plants and so on, and 'binder' where you can save any information you want from the dictionaries. And you can also print out any pages. Furthermore, you don't need to worry about new words or phrases because you can update this dictionary library from the Internet with new entires and media.
