Summary: 30 Minute read for using FrontPage
Review: "Creating Your First Web Site with FrontPage 2000" by Bob Correll and published by CliffsNotes is the perfect little book to get a group project going in building a web site from nothing. It is small enough that I was able to read it completely on one trolley trip to SDSU on a Monday afternoon.Having over 10 years of experience in web site HTML programming, this book would have been too basic for me, but it is right for guiding a team of designers and developers who are starting a new web site design. This is a beginning book, but gets into advanced topics as well. After the Introduction, the first three chapters cover the basics: 1) Getting Acquainted with FrontPage2000, 2) Creating Your First Web Site and 3) Working with Your Web Pages. The next four chapters cover advanced topics: 4) Customizing Your Web Site, 5) Beefing Up Your Web Pages with Links, Lists and Pictures, 6) Creating Tables and 7) Adding Extras: Multimedia, Dynamic HTML and More. Finally, the last two chapters explain the technical web site publishing process: 8) Publishing Your Web Site on the Internet and 9) Maintaining and Updating Your Web Site. I was pleasantly surprised to find that even this little book has an index to locate various topics. Another good thing is that it is available in libraries as well as bookstores. noe@journalist.com
