Summary: GOOD WAY TO PLUNGE INTO WIRELESS NETWORKS
Review: I used this book for a course on the fundamentals of wireless networks. As a beginner, I thought this book was good way to plunge into wireless networks. I have have several complaints, though. One complaint is that the authors did not supply the reader with a glossary. Even though they explained the meaning of most of the terminologies and acronyms, there were times when they assumed that the reader knew what an acronym or terminology meant. At other times, they explained the meaning of a terminology or acronym several pages or several chapters later -- if at all. The glossary would have also made a great point of reference, since remembering the meaning of the multitude of acronyms and terminologies can be quite a challenge, for a novice. Another complaint is that the index, was also not as detailed as it could have been. Thus, you may find yourself praying (as you study for finals) that the table of contents will point the way. If it doesn't, you are out of luck --- you'll have to leaf your way through the book to find a particular item. Had it not been for the aforementioned shortcomings, I would have given the book four stars.
