Rating: Summary: An excellent book to begin and to serve as reference. Review: The book embraces the principal topics of Linux, and it shows how to do. Very well explained and detailed, simple and I practice. I recommend those that are interested in Linux that would like to know more on the subject, for the ones that they already work with linux, a reference book.
Rating: Summary: Master user, process, and network administration Review: The open-source LINUX operating system is gaining ground fast in businesses and universities around the world, and many commercial versions of the software make it reliable and user-friendly enough for any organization. Rating: Summary: The book is for server use. Review: This book covers most of internet server setting and describes clean & clear.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: This book is an excellent reference for the Linux/GNU Red Hat Release user. The book covers just about any topic the beginning user requires to configure his or her system. The examples give you almost everything you need but don't quit give all the details required to complete the task. However, having said that, this book supplies the background required to complete the task at hand. Matt Welsh's "Running Linux" is the industry classic. This book runs a close second in my opinion.

Rating: Summary: A Must Have for Red Hat Linux Server Administrators Review: This book is extremely clear and concise. It provides easy to find information on all major services for a Linux server: DNS,SMTP, POP3, HTTP, FTP, IRC, and SQL. Goes through the configuration files and settings that are necessary to get the services running the way you want them. My best buy of four Linux books!
Rating: Summary: Avoid. Useful only as a coaster! Review: This book is long on wind and low on useful information. Most info can be found in the how-to's. This is not a well written book and is hard to follow at times, and somewhat disjointed. If you want a good Linux book, keep looking. This book will take a major rewrite before it is useful to both the master and the newbie.

Rating: Summary: Red Hat Linux 6 Server Review: This book really explains How To. When the author explains how to do something, it is easy to understand the first time you read it. The author not only explains how to do something he also tells you why you are doing it. I have about 35 technical books on various subjects and different operating systems, and this is the best and easiest to understand of them all.
Rating: Summary: Filled with useful information Review: This is a great book filled with tons of useful tips. For example, did you know how to set the default umask to 026 for files saved over FTP? (You use -u026 in inetd.conf). Chapter 5 is very useful and provides great examples and explainations on how to use everyday linux commands. This is the only Linux book that I refer to. I would highly recommend it for anybody who has some linux/unix experience and is interested in becoming an expert linux server administrator.
