Rating: Summary: I'm disappointed Review: Having purchased a number of "... The Complete Reference" books in the past, I must say that I am disappointed with this one. For all of the pages in this book, there really isn't much substance. There are too many illustrations with little text to back them up. I definitely would not recommend this book to a beginner. An experienced Exchange admin might value it as a reference but I believe that the Microsoft books are more useful in that capacity.

Rating: Summary: Very informative! Review: I read the comments here and bought the book anyway after skimming it in my local bookstore. I think this book is a great reference to have handy. Its filled with great tidbits, configuration settings and other information I have not been able to find anywhere else. The chapter on Instant Messaging is very thorough, as are other chapters. No book is perfect, but overall I am pleased with the book and I recommend it to others.
Rating: Summary: Great reference book! Review: I've recently switched jobs and inherited about 50 Exchange 2000 servers, including a few clusters. I went to my local bookstore and picked up a used copy of this book. So far, it has been extremely valuable. It helped me solve a critical problem with one of our Exchange 2000 clusters, and I used the instructions to deploy Instant Messaging. I was able to quickly deploy it to a few hundred folks (getting ready to deploy to several thousand next). I also appreciate all of the attention paid to Exchange architecture and internals. We'll be upgrading to Exchange 2003 some time late next year, so hopefully the Exchange 2003 version of this book will be out by then. I recommend this book to all Exchange 2000 admins.
Rating: Summary: No information of any substance. Buy another Review: This book must be the worst book I have ever read. I have gone through each chapter and there is so little substance and so many graphics. The text that is there spells out what you can see on the screen and there is no background information. Security of NNTP comes down to half a page!Buy another!
Rating: Summary: Not practical Review: This is one of the worst computer books I have ever read!! I have had to constantly refer to MS whitepapers to install my test Exchange server since this book lacks the thoroughness to complete a full multi-domain installation with ADC and IM installed. The section on installing and configuring the IM server is useless. I've read at least 1/3 of the book and will probably not read the rest. I will try the book from MS Press next.
