Rating: Summary: Impressed Review: I'm quite impressed and satisfied with this book and with the entire Simplified series. This book presents an excellent introduction to and overview of Microsoft Access 2000. It is very accessible to beginners and provides useful information for more experienced users. For visual learners (like myself), the illustrations are a great help. It's challenging to take a complex subject and express it simply, clearly, concisely, and comprehensively. This book meets the challenge. Other books in the Simplified series are listed on Amazon.com under the author name Ruth Maran. A similar series (which I also enjoy very much) by the same author is the Teach Yourself Visually series. For further study, I recommend Course Technology: the Shelly Cashman Series; the New Perspectives Series; and the Illustrated Series (I particularly like the Shelly Cashman Series). And, of course, there is Microsoft Press: I like the Step by Step Series and the Running Series. These books are all available on Amazon.com.
Rating: Summary: Microsoft Access 2000 Simplified Review: It's a magnificent book especially for beginners! I have several books about Microsoft Access but I could not really understand much about creating forms, data sheets, query, relationships, etc. until I read this book!
Rating: Summary: Pre Dummies Review: This book can best be regarded as a primmer for the Dummies series. After a lot of misspent money I have found a combination that works quite well (if the subjects are covered), that is starting with the Visual Quickstart Guides, and for greater depth Que's `Using' preferably the Special Edition as you get the complete book on CD too.
