Summary: Dissapointing......In the nicest way!
Review: Just as when you grow-up a little an realise how the magician's do their tricks, when you finally see the ActionScript behind some of the coolest Flash effects it is a little dissapoiting. BUT! Eventually you gain new and greater admiration for the Flashers that came up with the ideas and sweated over the code - and then shared it with the world! I'd already bought Friends of Ed's Video book and I'd learnt a lot of coding just from using that, this book has taught me even more and in a wide variedy of areas. Adam Phillips' chapter on animation had me drooling, and wishing i'd paid more attention in art class. Fantasic fun.

Summary: inspiring projects
Review: This book has got eight chapters in it, and I've been through four of them so far and am really enjoying it. I bought it because WideGroup wrote one of the chapters and I saw the Sofake site on FlashKit featured site. It's great to see how their Flash files are built and yuou can get all the files for the book on the web site. I made the MP3 player which is great as I've been looking around for tutorials that show you how to do this in Flash MX for ages.

Review: This book is full of uninspiring projects and poor editing. Tons of typos, and writing that just doesn't make sense in the least. I'm very surprised someone edited this at all. It was up for sale again not long after I got it.

Summary: Well laid our tuts-at last!
Review: Well, I cannot tell you how long I have waited for this book to come out. Once I found out that "Wide Group" was contributing their techniques to this book, I had to have it. Unfortunatly after reading the book I could not figure out how the writers of "Friends of Ed" decided that these were the most wanted in the world of Flash MX web design. I love "Friends of Ed" publishing but they could have chosen better work to display. And the fact that there was no CD to see the particular effects hurts the book as well. I guess they would rather you visit the site.
