Summary: Very informative book about digital logic and microproc.
Review: I came across this book at the local bookstore, and I was skeptical at first but after an in-depth review of it , it became clear to me that the text "Fundamentals of Digital Logic & Microcomp. Design" can be very useful source of info. for people that seek very clear information about the field of digital logic and and microprocessor design. As an electrical engineer, I believe , it is written in such a way that anyone can gain from it. I sure liked it to the point that I purchased it and thats why I highly recommend this book for all.

Summary: excellent book on digital technology and microprocessor
Review: I had the opportunity to go through the copy of the third edition of the book entitled" Fundamentals of Digital logic and microcomputer design" by profesor. M. Rafiquzzaman. This edition definately contains more up to date information than the earlier edition. This edition has several unique features. I like the inclusion of definations of ASIC, FPGA/CPLD, CISC/RISC, SDRAM, Flash memories, more examples, and appendices containing details of instruction sets and specifications of Intel and Motorola microprocessors. The book emphasizes on the basics relating them to contemporary and popular microprocessors.i also like the fact that the author included guidelines for the minimum courses to be taken by electrical and computer engineers before graduation to strengthen teir digital background. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A Good book for Digital Design
Review: I WAS USING THIS BOOK FOR MY UNDERGRADUATE CLASSES ON "DIGITAL DESIGN??, ??INTEL MIRCROCESSORS, 8086 ASSEMBLER??, ??MOTOROLA 16 BIT, 32 BIT AND 64 BIT MICROPROCESSORS??. THIS BOOK IS VERY USEFUL - IT HAS, FROM ONE HAND A VERY REASONABLE METHODOLOGY BEHIND. FROM THE OTHER HAND IT IS AN EXCELLENT COLLECTION OF DESIGN EXAMPLES. ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IS THE BOOK COVERS ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DIGITAL DESIGN. THE NEW EDITION OF THIS BOOK COVER THE HDL, AND THIS BOOK IS BY FAR THE MOST INFORMATIVE AND PRACTICAL. THE NUMBER OF EXAMPLES CONTAINS VERILOG CODE, AND A TEST BENCH. THIS IS THE INCREDIBLE BOOK FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.

Summary: Great book
Review: The greatest strength of this book is that the author creates it with the students in mind. If you are new to digital circuit design, this book will save you from literally hundred of hours of headache. Studying in college is not easy because you have so many classes to take; you probably have to work to support yourself, also. The last thing most students need is a textbook written by a PhD author understood only by the author. Dr. Raffiquzzaman writes this book to give the students a strong foundation in digital design and to help the students financially.

First, when I started learning digital logic four years ago, I had difficulty understanding the required textbook. It took too long to try and understand each page in that book. (It was a bad experience; I chose not to remember the title of that darn book.) I felt discouraged but, luckily, my fellow students told me about this book. Since then, I used only Dr. Rafi book as my first step in learning digital. Like I said, students don't have time!

Oh! About saving money, this book is one of the few digital textbooks, if not the only book, which costs less than a hundred dollars. Check out the price above. The author, in his great insight, creates his own publishing company along with this book. Furthermore, this book is not slim. It has enough materials inside to cover your first three years of digital study. In addition, in only four years, the author has updated it two times to make sure you have the latest technology information. After all, we are living in the Pentium 4 world.

Summary: An Instructor's notes in the palm of your hands
Review: This book ,"Fundamentals of Digital Logic and Microcomputer Design", helped me a WHOLE LOT when I needed spec.s and other related info. about Intel and Motorola Microprocessors. Lately I have used this book for much more, I have brushed up on my digital skills too, It is just FULL of USEFUL information about related topics. I recommend this book to everyone.

Summary: Great Digital Logic Text
Review: This book is great for starters as well as hardcore engineers, it is very easy to understand. Lots of good examples, not a lot of junk. I will keep this book for a long time; It has so much information about everything, from basic gates to design of microprocessors. I recommend this text for every student and pro.
