Rating: Summary: Good textbook for a beginning typesetter Review: This was the textbook of choice for my university's QuarkXPress typesetting course. The directions for creating layouts are generally easy to understand. There are sidebars explaining shortcuts and techniques for more efficient use. It is obviously geared toward the beginning typesetter and gives some great suggestions on building a portfolio for that critical first job. On the negative side, there were times when it got a little wordy. One sometimes had to do a lot of reading to find out how to accomplish a simple task. All in all, however, I found this a useful tool in learning the basics of QuarkXPress.
