Rating: Summary: Great book for beginners!! Review: For being a new Pocket PC user this book has made the adjustment very easy. The book explains the functions from taking it out of the box, to the memory, to synchronizing it, to the application very well. The pictures of the screens are also a big help.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely worthless Review: I cannot believe anyone gave this book greater than 1 star. Are they confusing it with a different title? This book is nothing more than a re-hash of exactly the same information you get with the user's manual. It doesn't even give you any of the tips that one reviewer praises it for. Save your money and buy "How To Do Everything With Your iPAQ Pocket PC" instead. That book has LOTS of tips and tricks and is much better for your money.

Rating: Summary: Complete Guide for new Pocket PC users. Review: Steve Seroshek's "The Pocket PC" is an excellent guide for new Pocket PC users or for anyone who is planning to buy a Pocket PC. Starting with the basics What is a Pocket PC? and Out of the Box,Now What? Seroshek, Product Manager in Microsoft's Mobility Group and a writer for Pocket PC Magazine, introduces the reader, with easiness, into the fascinating world of these small computers that we call Pocket PCs. In 17 chapters (and less than 170 pages), the readers will get to know the basics about Pocket Pc hardware, software and how to set up the Pocket Pc for the first time. The book also explains how to use Microsoft Pocket Excel, Microsoft Pocket Word, Microsoft Media Player and all the PDA functions included in the Pocket Pc such as Tasks, Contacts, Notes and Calendar. Whole chapters deal with Microsoft ActiveSync, the communication brigde between your desktop and Pocket PCs, and the many ways to expand your pocket pc with compact flash tecgnology (modems for the internet) and other expansion devices, and, also explained without complications, the reader will find useful topics to explore the web and sending and receiving e-mail. Written for the novice the book is useful whether you have a Compaq Ipaq, a Hewlett Packard Jornada 500 series or the Casio Cassiopeias E series pcoket pc that work with Microsoft Windows CE as the base operating system. An excellent book!
