Summary: GREAT HELP!!!
Review: Great Book!!! Very easy to understand and excellent for use in a classroom setting. Having not a very strong Crystal background, the material was presented in a way that was easy to follow and greatly improved my Crystal skills.

Summary: EXTREMELY PLEASED
Review: I bought this thinking I could get some answers about Crystal Reports, but it was very dissappointing. It is not arranged like a real book and only covers some basic parts... it was impossible to read and understand and should have come with disclaimer that it is really a training manual from some course. I don't this should be listed as a book as it is photocopied and bound-- I found an old copy of the Dummies guide at work for Crystal 7 and it was much better. (even with the wrong version)

Summary: Trainers Compare to Element K Manuals and Save Big $$
Review: I should have checked out the other reviews first (should have, could have would have.) First, let me explain that I am a novice database administrator and while not an expert on Crystal do consider myself an intermediate IT user.

To start, this ain't even a real book-- it looks like a training manuel put together that would normally accompany an instructor-led course. After going through the first half, I found it to leave out critical how to's and had an overall lack of good practical material I could use. It was like something you were forced to read in college, but worse. I should have done my homework.

To credit, it doesn't have many errors (except for some really bad examples>...

Best of luck.

Summary: One of the best training manuals out there for Crystal
Review: I think after having seen this manual versus having seen what I got as a reference material in the shrink wrapped box from Crystal with the software, there is no comparison. If you need to train yourself or others to use Crystal, this is a great book to use. Plenty of screen shots in here and hands on excercises with sample data to play with.

Thumbs up!

Summary: GREAT HELP!!!
Review: I've been running training courses for over six years and have used a variety of training materials in that time. In my opinion, Hammerman materials are as good as they get.

The course follows a clear, logical path and there are plenty of exercises for students to practice with. Perhaps the quality of the bindings is not quite as good as some other manuals but the content certainly is.

Hammerman manuals consistently get better ratings from my students than other leading brands and I can't think of a better compliment than that!

Summary: Great book if you are new to Crystal Reports
Review: This courseware book is well thought out and keeps you interested. The characters in the story line really keep you going.

Summary: poorly written, edited and manufactured.
Review: This is a poorly written and edited training manual for Crystal Reports. The coverage on most topics is inadequate and reflects a deep misunderstanding in how Crystal Reports is used. I should have read the publishers description further-- it was only when I recieved the manual I realised it was self-published (with what looks to be a photocopier and a binding machine.) I think that if you have worked with Crystal for more than five minutes, you will surpass the technical content of this title.
