Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Well thought out but not complete.
Review: I found this to be an excellent starter book, expect to learn anything but the most basic tasks and you'll be disappointed. That being said...it did it's job for me. Over a weekend I was able to do the most common tasks in RH Linux but if you already have the most basic skills, this one can be skipped for RH 7.2 Bible which is the end all be all RH text IMHO.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great for begginers
Review: It says so in the cover, weekend crash course for beginners. Learn a lot from it, now the next step, the red hat bible.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Extremely frustrating
Review: It seems as though this book was thrown together over a weekend. Errors and omissions make it frustrating to use in the extreme. I should have been warned by the text on the inside back page that says, "The CD-ROM ... contains a copy of Red Hat Linux 8.0...". It doesn't of course and the installation that does come - 7.2 seems incomplete. For example I was unable to load the Samba server off the disks and the text that dealt with the installation was completely inaccurate and unhelpfull.

This book is a waste of money - the official guide (downloadable free from Red Hat) is a better text and easier to read.
